PURCHASED KEYSTONE PASSPORT TRAVEL TRAILER WITH MISSION TIRES ST205 75R 14. DOT 7DJTY0T1108. EARLY ON 2 TIRES LOST AIR, NO PUNCTURES OR CAUSE. LATER A THIRD FLAT WAS DUE TO PUNCTURE. JULY OF 2014 NOTICED EXPOSED BELTS AND UNUSUAL WEAR ON ANOTHER TIRE. A LOCAL TIRE DEALER INFORMED ME THE TIRE WAS COMING APART AND WE'RE FORTUNATE THAT IT DIDN'T BLOW OUT CAUSING DAMAGE. DECIDED I SHOULD GET NEW TIRES OF ANOTHER BRAND. DEALER INSPECTION OF THE MISSION TIRES REVEALED TWO OTHER TIRES WITH BELT SEPARATION AND ONE WITH TREAD SEPARATION. HE SAID TIRES LOOKED BAD, DANGEROUS AND DEFECTIVE. HE SAID WITH AS FEW MILES ON THEM, +/- 10,000, THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN THAT CONDITION. CONTACTED TIRECO, THE MFR. OF MISSION TIRES. ACCORDING TO LISA, TIRES MFRD. NOV. OF 08 AND OUT OF WARRANTY. WARRANTY STARTS DATE OF MFR. TIRES CLOSE TO 2 YRS. OLD WHEN I PURCHASED THE TRAILER NEW. [XXX] SAID NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE TIRES OUT OF WARRANTY. PURCHASED NEW TIRES EVEN THOUGH THE REMAINING GOOD TIRE HAD 7/32 OF TREAD LEFT. THESE MISSION TIRES ARE POOR QUALITY, DEFECTIVE AND DANGEROUS. WE FEEL TIRECO OWES US SOME KIND OF COMPENSATION FOR THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES SINCE THEY HAD JUST APPROX. 10,000 MILES ON THEM AND WERE ON THE TRAILER ALMOST TWO YRS. BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE TRAILER. WE TOOK PICTURES OF THE WORSE TIRE AND WILL SAVE THE TIRES FOR ANY FUTURE REVIEW. WE FEEL FORTUNATE THAT NONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT AND WE CAUGHT THE PROBLEM IN TIME. THESE MISSION TIRES NEED TO BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED AND/OR KILLED DUE TO THESE DEFECTIVE, POOR QUALITY TIRES. THEY ARE MADE IN CHINA! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
