TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 (NA) KEYSTONE FUZION. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE RV BEGAN TO DRIVE ABNORMALLY. I CALLED MY FIANCE' OUT OF THE TRUCK TO LOOK. HE AGREED, BUT SAID WE NEEDED TO GET THE TRAILER STRAIGHT WITH THE TRUCK BECAUSE WE HAD TWO INDEPENDENT AXELS. HE PULLED THE TRAILER BACK ONTO NF90 GOING SOUTH WHERE IT WAS IN LINE WITH THE TRUCK AND THE ROAD WAS LEVEL. IT APPEARS AS IF THE DAMAGE HAS BEEN ON-GOING, EVIDENT BY RUST. AT TIMES WE HAVE GONE 70MPH. AT THE TIME WE NOTICED WE WERE BARELY MOVING. WE ARE LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. THE DAMAGE IS QUITE SEVERE. THE FRAME IS GAPING AT THE CENTER HANGER 'REINFORCEMENT' WELD AND BULGING JUST FORWARD OF THAT AREA. THERE IS EVIDENCE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROGRESSIVE ISSUE WITH THE AMOUNT OF RUST INVOLVED AND WHERE IT IS AT. FROM MY LIMITED RESEARCH, FRAME TEARS HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE WITH LIPPERT GOING AS FAR BACK AS 2005. THE SUSPENSION HAS CRACKS IN IT AS WELL, AGAIN PROGRESSIVE WITH RUST. THE AXLES ARE BOTH PUSHED TO THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE UNIT. THE LEAF SPRING BUCKLES HAVE SEPARATED WITH THE SHIFTING OF THE AXLES. **SEVERAL COMPLAINTS RE LIPPERT FRAMES (KEYSTONE USES LIPPERT PARTS) ARE FOUND IN THE ODI DATABASE** MY FRAME HAS TORN IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE AS THE "FIX" POSTED ON THE ODI WEBSITE - HTTP://WWW-ODI.NHTSA.DOT.GOV/ACMS/CS/JAXRS/DOWNLOAD/DOC/ACM18731969/RCRIT-11V486-1111.PDF WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SLIDES AND DOORS OF THIS UNIT SINCE WE PURCHASED IT - ALL INDICATIVE OF A MISALIGNED FRAME OR FRAME COMPONENTS. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-574-535-2100, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Keystone Carbon, Fuzion, Impact, Raptor, and Dutchmen Voltage toy hauler fifth wheels equipped with aluminum black ladders manufactured by Christianson Industries. The affected ladders have retractable hinges, each with a welded 'top hat' that can separate from the hinge.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the hinges separate from the ladder while in use, the ladder may fall from the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will install a hinge brace over the back of the existing hinges, free of charge. The recall began on November 29, 2016. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 16-267.
Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain model year 2015 Keystone Sprinter, Cougar, Montana, Montana High Country, Outback, Bullet, Avalanche, Alpine, Fuzion, Impact, Laredo, Raptor, Carbon, and Passport, and Dutchmen Kodiak, Aerolite, Denali, and Voltage vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the screws that attach the expanding room to the sliding mechanism cable may fail allowing the room to extend unintentionally while the vehicle is in motion.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the room extends while vehicle is in motion, there is an increased risk of a crash.
Remedy: Keystone has notified owners, and dealers will replace the screws that secure the drive chain, free of charge. The recall began on June 18, 2015. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 15-225.
