May 20, 1994

THE ANCHOR END OF THE SAFETY BELT BUCKLE WAS INCORRECTLY LOCATED, CAUSING THE UPPER TORSO RESTRAINT TO BE IMPROPERLY POSITIONED.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: IMPROPER LOCATION OF THE UPPER TORSO RESTRAINT RESULTS IN REDUCED SEAT OCCUPANT PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A SUDDEN STOP OR CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REINSTALL THE SEAT BUCKLE ANCHOR TO PROPERLY POSITION THE SEAT AND UPPER TORSO RESTRAINTS.
