TRW SUPPLIED POWER STEERING GEARS WITH NON-HEAT-TREATED WORM SCREWS. THE STEERING GEARS WITHOUT HEAT TREATED WORM SCREWS CAN LOCK UP IN TIGHT TURNING MANEUVERS.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: LOCK UPS OF THE STEERING GEAR CAUSES LOSS OF STEERINGCONTROL AND COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
Remedy: REPLACE THE NON-HEAT-TREATED WORM SCREWS.
