MY HUSBAND, AN EXPERIENCED RIDER, WAS RIDDING HOME FROM WORK ON OUR 2007 KAWASAKI NINJA EX 250. AS HE STARTED UP OUR DRIVEWAY THE THROTTLE STUCK RESULTING IN HIS CRASHING THE BIKE AND BREAKING HIS ANKLE. THIS FAILURE HAD OCCURRED AT LEAST 2 OTHER TIMES, AT LEAST ONCE DURING THE BREAK IN PERIOD. *TR

ON CERTAIN NINJA MOTORCYCLES, THE FUEL TANK MAY HAVE BEEN PUNCTURED OR WEAKENED BY A FAIRING MOUNTING SCREW OR MANUFACTURING OPERATION.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL TANK AND REPLACE THE TANK IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 11, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KAWASAKI AT 1-866-802-9381.
