On April 4, 2024 while driving southbound on I-95 in Connecticut between exit 3 and 2 in Greenwich, all of the dashboard warning indicators lit up, and the brakes failed. I was able to slow to a stop avoiding hitting other vehicles, and moved to the shoulder. I turned the vehicle on and off several times, but couldn’t get the lights to go off. The car was towed to the dealership. This is not the first incident with this vehicle, prior incidents related to electrical issues with heated seats, faulty electrical equipment in the screens, and a rain leak through the microphone in the roof. The vehicle is unsafe to drive. I have children, and I now fear for their safety in this car.

Vehicle has alignment issues and ruining tires in 2000 miles. Problem started at around 25,000 miles and now at 32,000 miles. and has been at the dealer for over 2 months waiting on wagoneer engineering to figure it out. 2 dealers and Wagoneer blame the issue on the tires and not addressing the issue and saying alignment is fine yet the print out shows red indicating out of alignment, independent has confirmed there is a problem with the alignment. Vehicle has also developed a shake/vibration while driving and is making it hard to drive causing fatigue. I replaced the tires at a dealer and after 2000 miles they are ruined and they are not standing behind the warranty they stated.

The 2022 Wagoneer (first model of vehicle) we own has had SEVERAL issues dating back to purchase in 04/2022. The original battery died in 08/2022 when the car had ~3000 miles. The electrical system was to blame in draining the battery dealer said. dashboard lit up and shut on and off. The dealership ‘repaired’ with new battery. Other various issues with seats and electrical malfunctions have taken place both before/after that. But last night, about 20-30 minutes into a drive, the check engine and battery lights came on. A couple mins later, the AC and volume didn’t work and then the dash lit up with over 10 buttons. At this point, I was attempting to pull over, but I was on a busy road with no where to go. A couple minutes later, the dash starting flashing on and off. At this point, the steering wheel locked up, the brakes no longer worked and the whole car dash and video screen was dark. I was going 65mph at the time with by 12 year old son and 10 year old daughter. I could not move the wheel and had no brakes as we were entering bend in road and semi truck coming at us. I had to make a decision to either run car off road into a field or house or try to jerk wheel. It took all my strength to turn wheel and avoid the semi truck. We escaped a major wreck or death by a matter of inches. Worrisome and scary to say the least. Fortunately after that turn, the road straightened out and I drove until car ran out of speed. Once it stopped (thankfully there were no people or stopped cars or traffic lights when we didn’t have brakes or steering), the car went into park. Flashers didn’t work. This is a reoccurring problem on my car and we have friends who also had a 2022 Wagoneer and the exact same thing happened to them and they avoided disaster too. There is obviously a problem and I cannot drive that car ever again and cannot put my kids back in that car. Also, it took 4 hours for a tow truck to arrive as Jeep didn’t seem to help much. We narrowly escaped death.

On two occasions, the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer Series II completely shut down and locked up while driving at speed. The steering wheel locked, the brakes wouldn't work and the engine and all electrical components went offline. In both cases, the vehicle was uncontrollable as it grinded eventually to a stop. The first occasion put us in a ditch. The second occasion nearly hit a construction worker. Children were onboard both times. After the first incident, we were able to get the vehicle to start again after a couple of hours. With all warning lights on we drive it slowly back to the dealership. They were unable to reproduce the problem and said that it needed a lot of software updates which they performed. Four months later it happened again. This time it could not be started and it was towed to the dealership who also has not been able to get it to come online. Less concerning from a safety standpoint is that it occasionally won't wake up after being parked. Sometimes opening the hood and slamming it shut gets it to wake up.

At two thousand miles the power steering went dead. Limped it home as I was told it would be difficult to drive but not unmanageable. Once I drove 35 miles home the dealership said bring it in and we can get you a loaner. On driving to the dealership the power steering turned on for half a second. Luckily wasn’t applying a ton of force to turn the wheel and it just made me swerve half way in the ditch. Had I been going fast we would of been upside down in the ditch or worse.

Driving my vehicle home it was hard to turn and back wheels were locked out and not turning. After turning on and off vehicle SERV 4WD came on and manual said to get it in for service. Also, Uconnect and heat seaters stopped working. After having it towed at 2&1/2 mo old into dealerships service dept, was told by wagoneer client services that this wheels lock out is a common issue they are having and requires system updates, rear diff fluid drain and replace, and they will be doing a Cam sensor replacement while its in for a known issue with that(also not a recall), and the Uconnect and seat heaters intermittently not working they don't have an ETA yet for. The wheels locking out and not working with kids in the car is super scary. And if its a known issue they need to be doing a recall before someone gets into a serious accident. Not ok.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneer, 2022-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, 2023-2025 Jeep Wagoneer L, and 2023-2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer L vehicles. The pivot bolts for the roof rack crossbars may not have been tightened properly, allowing them to detach.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Detached roof rack crossbars can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the roof rack crossbar pivot bolts, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed October 8, 2026. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 81D. Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Detached trim pieces can create a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the quarter window glass assembly, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning February 19, 2026. The radio software may prevent the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

The third-row seat belts may not allow occupants to properly access or fasten the seat belt to the buckle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An unfastened seat belt may increase the risk of injury to occupants during a crash.

The Central Vision Park Assist module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A rearview image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility of the rear view, increasing the risk of injury or crash.

The upper B-pillar interior trim may not be fully seated and could interfere with the side curtain air bag (SABIC) deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A compromised deployment of the SABIC can reduce occupant protection in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

The second-row center-seat recliner pull strap may bind on the seat trim surface, preventing the seat back from locking into the upright position. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 207, "Seating Systems."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A seat back that is not locked into position can increase the risk of injury in a crash.

The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 80 consumer complaints alleging an engine stall and loss of motive power on model year (MY) 2022 RAM 1500 pickup trucks and 2022 Jeep Wagoneer SUV vehicles. The particular engines in the subject vehicles are equipped with the Fiat Chrysler Automotive Group LLC (FCA) 5.7L Hemi eTorque system. The eTorque system is a mild hybrid system that lets the vehicle partially power itself. It accomplishes this by converting the captured energy from the braking system into electricity for the battery pack, which is then used to power a variety of electrical components. ETorque engines replace the alternator with a 48-volt battery-powered belt drive and a motor generator. The motor generator provides extra torque to the crankshaft during gear changes. Simultaneously, the motor generator uses the 48-volt battery pack to increase torque. Many of the complaints state that the vehicle's engine would shut off, often while travelling at slow speed, the vehicle would shift into park and apply the emergency brake. The vehicles were sometimes able to be restarted. In addition, complaints state that the malfunction warning light with the battery fault symbol appeared on the dash.  Many complaints state that a low voltage condition fault is present, sometimes not being able to restart the vehicle. On April 13, 2023, FCA announced recall 23V-265 describing a defect in certain 2021 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 5.7L eTorque engines.  The recall described a defect in the powertrain control module software can cause an incorrect fuel mixture condition in the engine, and result in an engine stall. In February of 2024, ODI provided the complaints on the 2022 Ram 1500 and Wagoneer vehicles to FCA. After reviewing the complaints, FCA stated that “the loss of motive power was likely not caused by an over rich fuel condition (as outlined in recall 23V-265), but rather some other cause (e.g., an electrical concern that causes the engine to shut down).” A Preliminary Evaluation has been opened to assess the scope, frequency, root cause(s) and consequences of these loss/stall of motive power incidents.  Additionally, ODI may expand the scope of the subject population during the investigation, if needed. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 80 consumer complaints alleging an engine stall and loss of motive power on model year (MY) 2022 RAM 1500 pickup trucks and 2022 Jeep Wagoneer SUV vehicles.
