My Renegade fuel pump failed in a very unsafe manner without an engine light at only 42,000 miles, less than half the expected life of that component. I was driving on the highway and without warning I could no longer accelerate and I had plenty of fuel but no engine light came on and I had to glide to the right while cars were speeding around me before I reached 0mph. This is extremely dangerous and I'm finding it's very common in other models that aren't covered under the fuel pump recall for certain jeep renegades. My fuel pump was fixed and they said it was a common issue but I had no recourse to investigate beyond "it's not a recall". If this is happening to other Renegades not covered it will most definitely cause a serious crash as the engine is on but no acceleration.
There is a known problem (many online forums discuss this) with the 2018 Jeep renegade display system. The screen has issues that starts out with de-lamination and eventually escalates into the screen malfunctioning. This is extremely dangerous as the screen starts randomly selecting items. There is a known problem (many online forums discuss this) with the 2018 Jeep renegade display system. The screen has issues that starts out with de-lamination and eventually escalates into the screen malfunctioning. This is extremely dangerous as the screen starts randomly selecting items. I.e. music stations start changing, gps is no longer available, heating settings change, and if CarPlay is used it starts making random calls. This is very distracting to the driver and is known issue with Jeep specific to the 2018 Jeep renegade model.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unintendedly lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer and was diagnosed, and it was determined that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
My Jeep renegade is supposed to have an oil change every 3000-5000 miles. I have been having to change its oil around 1500 miles for over a year. The Chrysler Jeep Dodge dealership refuses to replace my motor. They have only offered to do an oil consumption test.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Jeep Renegade 4X2 flex fuel/E85 vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine. In certain operating conditions such as high power demand in conjunction with high altitude and/or high ambient temperatures, a manufacturing error in the fuel pump assembly may result in a loss of fuel pressure.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of fuel pressure can cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began April 26, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is UB2.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began October 2, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U87.
