The entire radio system begins to get white ghost lines which affects the rear back-up camera and rear safety systems, and it also affects the parking brakes when the vehicle is in park or stopped. The use of the radio system is required to do basic maintenance on the vehicle such as brake changes.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while attempting to reverse out of the driveway at approximately 5 MPH, the rear-view camera failed to properly operate. The contact stated that the screen was blue and then turned black. The contact stated afterward only half of the screen was displaying an image. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the vehicle was not under recall. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,500.
Interior navigation screen has stopped working which interferes with the back up camera & other important features of the vehicle. Nothing specific happened, just went black on half of the screen one day

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while reversing, the back-over prevention camera operated as needed intermittently. The contact stated that the camera was occasionally turned on and turned off with the radio. The contact attempted to restart the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer and was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
The radio head unit (display monitor) has failed. I can not use backup camera, safety and security alerts. This problem is common across all Jeep renegades. No recall has been provided. These units cost $2,000 to replace at the dealer.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Jeep Renegade 4X2 flex fuel/E85 vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine. In certain operating conditions such as high power demand in conjunction with high altitude and/or high ambient temperatures, a manufacturing error in the fuel pump assembly may result in a loss of fuel pressure.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of fuel pressure can cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began April 26, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is UB2.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began October 2, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U87.
