I am writing to request immediate assistance with our Jeep, which has become a serious safety hazard for our family. We purchased the jeep less than 2 years ago and over the past three months it has repeatedly failed to start or has stalled unexpectedly, leaving us stranded on multiple occasions. Despite taking the vehicle to dealership and other service centers four times, no one has been able to diagnose or repair the issue. The vehicle often starts normally for technicians after being towed, only to fail again once we have it back. On our most recent visit to a dealership, we were charged $180 for diagnostics, yet the 3 of 5 XXX 3:01 PM XXX Claim Form [XXX]!!production\customer\customer_c... problem persists. When I called today for further help, we were turned away. This ongoing issue has created significant safety risks. The Jeep has stalled at traffic lights on multiple occasions, including one near-miss with a tractor-trailer. My husband works in a high-risk environment, and reliable transportation is essential for our family’s safety. As a registered nurse, I have already missed work due to these breakdowns and am at risk of jeopardizing my career. We have also been forced to miss important family events and cancel vacation plans. The financial burden has been devastating. We have spent a substantial amount of money on repeated towing, diagnostics, and repairs, leaving us struggling to cover basic household bills. For the safety of our children and our family, we urgently request that you repurchase or replace this vehicle under your responsibilities as a dealership. We can no longer accept the ongoing risk and unreliability. I kindly ask for a prompt response and a resolution within the next few business days. Please contact me at [XXX] or [XXX] to discuss next steps. Thank you for your immediate attention to this serious matter. The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while driving at 35 MPH and started to decelerate unintendedly. The check engine and the throttle system warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was test-driven, but the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, who informed the contact about the stored codes. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer, Clay Cooley Irving Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (815 E Camp Wisdom Rd, Duncanville, TX 75116), where it was diagnosed and determined that a cell was dead and there was an auxiliary battery failure. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Upon engine start up at the home of my S/O, [XX], the warning "Service Automatic Throttle Control" appeared on the dashboard. Placing the vehicle into gear first in reverse, then in drive resulted in sudden acceleration and erratic lurching. I had no brakes whatsoever. At one point my S/O nearly hit on the dash per signed affidavit. I had to place my 2024 Jeep Compass in Park in order to stop and then slowly maneuver it into a safe parking spot before having it towed to Golling Jeep Ram Dodge in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Tech diagnosis two days later showed Error Code 2299. But the vehicle started and operated as normal. Nothing wrong. After a test drive the next day to be sure, they had me get my vehicle. Although my door sticker gives a manufacturing date of 6/2024, I call your attention to NHTSA Recall 24V-240 over throttle control system software. Strangely enough, this exact same malfunction occurred at the same address on [XXX], almost a year earlier. It was towed at that time to Suburban JDR in Farmington, MI where, again, my vehicle showed the same 2299 Code but otherwise, performing well, advising me to come get my Compass. So, both times my 2024 Jeep Compass took control away from me, this time with no brakes, almost injuring my S/O. Fortunately, both incidents happened in her gated community with no pedestrians or traffic. In addition to this intermittent, dangerous malfunction, I owned both a 2018 and a 2021 Compass one of which, like the Dodge Ram recall, had a horribly malfunctioning turn signal. The VINs: 2018 [XXX] ; and the 2021 #[XXX]. This is real and dangerous. That I can attest to. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

the accident occurred on [XXX] in the city of Visalia, Ca. I’m not sure what time it was happened and any other details because I’m not the person involved in the accident but I bought the car from a dealership located in Corona, Ca on [XXX]. They never mentioned that the car was involved in a collision or if it had an accident reports. Even brought a Vehicle History report with the contact details. Then the first day when I bought it the engine light turns on and on the dashboard said “transmission service” so I tried to return it to them but they said “isn’t possible” so they took the car to supposedly fix it but after one day that they gave me the car back the engine light turns on again, so I had to investigate by myself and I found that the car was on a collision and it was registered as a rental vehicle in another state and after the accident it was put on sale by an auto auction. On Thursday October 3rd I was driving in stop and go city traffic. After accelerating to leave from a light my jeep died in the middle of the intersection. Total loss of power and slammed to a stop almost causing the person behind me to hit me. It started I drove it back to work. Later that day I left work and stopped to get gas. Turned it off, pumped my gas, went to go turn it back on and it wouldn't start. Just made an engine cranking sound. I hit the button a couple more times and it slowly cranked and started but it was sputtering and the dash and infotainment screen were very dimly lit. When I put it in drive it had no power, like it was in limp mode. I couldn't go past 20mph. My work was only around the corner so I drove it there and had it towed the next day to my closest Chrysler dealership. I have yet to hear back from them. My vehicle has 1,500 miles on it... Before this incident, I had lost power to my infotainment screen numerous times and while driving I've felt a jerking while accelerating. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE.
