THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS GONE OUT IN MY TRUCK WITHIN A YEAR'S TIME. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS AN ISUZU AMIGO (1998) MADE BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER AND HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I AM HAVING. HE SAID TWO MONTHS AFTER HIS FUEL SENDING UNIT WENT OUT, HIS FUEL PUMP WENT OUT. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE VEHICLE QUITS, WHICH IT W…

THE FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS GONE OUT IN MY TRUCK WITHIN A YEAR'S TIME. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS AN ISUZU AMIGO (1998) MADE BY THE SAME MANUFACTURER AND HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS I AM HAVING. VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LIGHT DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS AND MULTI-PURPOSE VEHICLES. AN ENGINE ELECTRICAL WIRING-HARNESS CLIP CAN MELT AND DRIP ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THE CLIP MATERIAL ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAN IGNITE AND SUBSEQUENTLY IGNITE OTHER COMBUSTIBLE COMPONENTS RESULTING IN A VEHICLE FIRE.

Remedy: DEALERS ARE CONTACTING OWNERS BY TELEPHONE TO HAVE THEIR VEHICLES TOWED TO THE DEALER AND ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED TO THEM UNTIL THE DEALER CAN REROUTE THE ELECTRICAL WIRING-HARNESS.
