The liftgate is not merely a matter of inconvenience. Its repeated failure directly interferes with my ability to enter, exit, and safely use the vehicle. I am concerned that the liftgate could also fail during an emergency or close, latch, or operate unpredictably. Right after we first bought the vehicle, we brought it in due to the hatch not opening, approx. Aug. 2024. They said to shove a screwdriver into the hatch to get it working again. It's also listed in their vehicle booklet that is given to you when you buy the SUV. That doesn't mean there is a recall but it's pretty darn close. They want me to wiggle into the back of the vehicle and jam a screwdriver into who knows where. I would love to see them do this without upper body strength and non-working legs. The vehicle has also experienced additional problems, including malfunctioning alarms, electrical issues, and other recurring defects. I have something called vehicle assist, it doesn't work. Alarms are supposed to go off if you leave your lane and pull you back into your original lane. No, you drift accross three lanes. Some problems have returned after attempted repairs. The vehicle has reportedly been presented for repair approximately three times and has been unavailable or out of service for an extraordinary amount of time, approximately 300 plus days in total. Today my caretaker was to take me to a VA and to the pharmacy to get my meds.
