2023 Infiniti Q50

I took my car in for a steering problem to the dealer. The car is weaving out of the lane when it hits uneven pavement. They looked at the car and did a wheel alignment. After that I noticed that the car was still weaving on uneven pavement. After some months I took it back to another dealer. They again tried to do an alignment. I told them to look deeper because that didn't fix it last time. After I pushed them to keep looking a senior tech came back and said it was the steering assembly and that he just fixed one like that. My car was just out of warranty but the dealer would not honor it. So I started looking for the part at a cheaper rate then they quoted me and i found one. I asked the dealership if they would do the labor if I get the part. When talking to another service representative at the dealer he said that he had the same exact car and it almost takes him out the lane. So, I was informing this guy about the problem he had with his car and he worked at the dealer. There needs to be a recall on these cars before someone is hurt badly. It is definitely a manufacturing problem and probably why they stop making the car. Infinity needs to be held accountable for selling people these cars with this defect. I bought my car used and during that process i saw many cars that had rim rash probably cause people are losing control of the cars and hitting curbs. The is a nationwide safety hazard that needs to be rectified.

The Steering Assembly is faulty in the vehicle. I purchase this vehicle as a used Certified preowned vehicle from Hart Infinity in Connecticut. I looked at several one year old Infiniti's as I had an accident in my 2019 and it was totaled. As I was looking, I notices that several of the vehicles had curb rash on the front rims as well as the one I purchased. After I bought mine in July 2024 I noticed that on uneven pavement the vehicle would pull left and right an I had to fight the steering wheel to keep the car in my lane. My safety was at risk because if I didn't maintain control I could crash into someone. I did some research on some sites and there was several people talking about the same issue. Some thought it was the run flat tires. I replaced my tires and still had the problem. Others thought it was the sway bar. I replaced mine with an after market to try to fix and that didn't fix it either. So then I went to the dealership and they checked it and did an alignment. It didn't fix the problem. After doing more research I found that a lot of people was having this issue. Since I had the rim rash on the rim when I purchase I thought maybe someone had an accident and something else was wrong like the lower control arm. I took it back again to another dealer and they said the control arm was fine and that I they did an alignment. I told them that it wasn't the issue that they did that last time and asked them to keep looking. They service rep said he talked to his head mechanic and he said that he just fixed that issue on another car and it was the steering assembly. Now the dealership is trying to charge me $5000 to repair the steering assembly and it was an issue with the car from purchase. After doing more research I found that they had issues with the steering assembly in previous models and there have been recalls. Please hold Infiniti responsible for putting people safety in jeopardy. They should repair a major flaw with there vehicle.

I’m reporting a recurring safety issue with my Infiniti Q50 involving the brake, steering, and acceleration systems. While driving, I’ve experienced the brake pedal becoming unresponsive, the gas pedal not reacting, and the steering wheel locking or feeling stiff, making it extremely difficult to control the car. The most recent incident occurred today, [XXX]. I had to stop driving immediately and had the car towed to an Infiniti dealership, where a full systems check was performed. However, since the issue didn’t replicate while there, the dealer said they could not determine the cause. The car is available for inspection if needed. The safety risk is severe: I could not stop or accelerate safely, and I struggled to steer — this put me and other drivers in danger of a serious accident. I have experienced this more than once. The dealership originally diagnosed worn brake pads, which I had replaced at an independent shop, but the problem continued afterward. I also showed the dealership photos of the warning symbol that appeared on my dash during both incidents. The car has been inspected by the Infiniti dealer and an independent mechanic, but no resolution has been found. No inspections have been done by police or insurance. Given the serious nature of this malfunction, I am requesting this be investigated as a possible safety defect.
