SINCE I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK IN 2015, THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA HAS A TENDENCY TO REMAIN ON THE SCREEN EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER ON CONEY ISLAND AVENUE IN BROOKLYN NY NUMEROUS TIMES AND SHOWED THEM HOW THE REAR CAMERA WAS STUCK ON THE VIDEO MONITOR. THEY SUGGESTED I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN, WHICH ALLEVIATED THE ISSUE TEMPORARILY UNTIL IT HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AGAIN. THIS POSES A VERY SERIOUS HAZARD ESPECIALLY IF YOU CANNOT STOP AND RESTART THE CAR.

IN THE CASE OF MOST NEWER CARS, INCLUDING MY OWN, THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE RULES FOR HEADLIGHTS. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE IN THE ON OR AUTO POSITION, THE HEADLIGHTS WILL COME ON, AS WELL AS THE TAIL-LIGHTS. WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE IN THE OFF POSITION, NEWER CARS WILL SENSE WHEN TWILIGHT IS FALLING AND TURN ON BOTH THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS BUT NOT THE TAIL-LIGHTS. THIS WILL GIVE THE DRIVER THE SENSE THAT HE HAS HIS LIGHTS ON (FOR HE CAN SEE THAT HIS HEADLIGHTS ARE ON) BUT HAS NO IDEA THAT HIS TAIL-LIGHTS ARE NOT ON, AND THAT THEREFORE HIS CAR IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE IN THE DARK. THE ONLY INDICATOR IN MY CAR THAT WOULD TELL ME IS THE GREEN LIGHT ON MY DASHBOARD TELLING ME THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ON IN THE ON OR AUTO POSITION. I AM AN UBER DRIVER IN SAN FRANCISCO AND FIND MYSELF TELLING MANY DRIVERS OF MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF CARS THAT THEIR LIGHTS ARE NOT IN THE ON POSITION. THEY ARE ALWAYS GRATEFUL TO KNOW. THE PROBLEM, I THINK, IS THAT ALL THE CAR MANUFACTURERS ARE FOLLOWING YOUR DIRECTIONS, NOT THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX, AND NOT REALIZING THAT YOU AND THEY HAVE CREATED A POTENTIALLY DEADLY SITUATION. I HOPE THAT YOU CAN DIRECT AUTO MANUFACTURERS TO REPAIR AND REPLACE THIS SITUATION. IF THE HEADLIGHTS GO ON, THEN THE TAIL-LIGHTS NEED TO GO ON, REGARDLESS OF THE POSITION ON THE LIGHTING STEM. THANK YOU. IF YOU NEED TO TALK TO ME ABOUT THIS MORE, I CAN BE REACHED AT [XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I GET DISTORTIVE IMAGES AND INTENSE GLARES FROM HEADLIGHTS OF CARS BEHIND ME, AND COMING TOWARDS ME WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THESE IMAGES ARE VERTICAL BEAMS OF LIGHT WITH HORIZONTAL LINES AND SHOOT TOWARDS THE SKY. EVERY CAR BEHIND YOU WILL REFLECT TWO BEAMS WITH THE LINES, AND IF THERE ARE SEVERAL CARS BEHIND YOU IT BECOMES MORE PRONOUNCED, LIKE A SEA OF VERTICAL BEAMS WITH GLARING LIGHTS. I ALSO GET INTENSE GLARES OF LIGHTS FROM HEADLIGHTS BEHIND ME AND COMING TOWARDS ME. IT FEELS LIKE EVERY CAR BEHIND OR COMING TOWARDS ME HAVE THEIR HIGH BEAMS ON. THIS EXPERIENCE IS BLINDING, DISTRACTING, DISTURBING, MAKES ME DISORIENTED, AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SINCE TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE ON MARCH 19, 2015, I HAVE HAD TO LIMIT MY NIGHT DRIVING. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS SUBSTANTIALLY IMPAIRED MY ENJOYMENT OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER, AND TO DATE, NO RESOLUTION. THE DEALER, NATIONWIDE INFINITI OF TIMONIUM CLAIMS THAT THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE CORRECTED. DEALER CLAIMS THAT THE AUTO DIMMER IS NOT FAULTY AND ALL THE Q50'S DRIVE THIS WAY. *TR
