The contact owned a 2020 Ice Castle Fish House. The contact stated that while the Ice Castle Fish House was hitched to the vehicle, the demco easy latch coupler detached from the connected ball assembly. The vehicle was shaking and erratically swaying back and forth. The vehicle and the Ice Castle Fish House crashed into a guardrail and rolled several times before stopping. The contact stated the easy latch coupler was still in tack. No injuries were sustained. The vehicle and the Ice Castle Fish House were condemned as a total loss by the insurance company. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V319000 (Trailer Hitches), which had a similar failure description; however, the contact VIN was not associated with the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance.
