My VIN was included in Hyundai Safety Recall 263 / NHTSA Recall 24V-529 involving the Transmission Control Unit and potential damage to the dual-clutch transmission. On September 25, 2024, at fewer than 5,000 miles, the transmission failed and the vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership. The transmission repair/replacement was approved and the vehicle remained out of service until October 21, 2024. On June 5, 2026, the vehicle would not start and required towing to an authorized Hyundai dealership. The vehicle has remained at the dealership continuously since June 5 and has not been returned to me. The dealer has undertaken multiple unsuccessful repair/diagnostic efforts during the current visit. I am currently being told that the condition involves the engine/powertrain. Hyundai is now sending an engineer to the dealership because the condition remains unresolved. I am reporting this history because this vehicle experienced a transmission failure shortly after being subject to a federal transmission-related safety recall and has now developed another major engine/powertrain condition while still relatively new.

When the vehicle was put in reverse, without pressing the gas the car would rapidly accelerate and jerk as if it was going to stall. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealership. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The manufacturer was working on a fix but unable to figure out the issue, so I returned the car. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, no warning lights.

this truck has repeatedly gone in for service over 6 times for multiple issues. The worst issue which they cannot fix is the vehicle going into limp mode while driving . Loosing all acceleration then racing on its own . This is a very dangerous problem when on the highway.hyundai service keeps telling me that the diagnostic is not showing a problem. This can be caused due to many things including transmission electrical or computer problems. I have reported to the office of consumer affairs and they claim hyundai dealership in myrtle beach has not responded to them. meanwhile i am driving in a very scary situation not knowing when this will occur. This happens at random times with no warning. This has happened at least 10 times in the last few months.

THE CRUISE CONTROL USES A CAMERA , THE IS SUPPOSED TO WATCH YOUR EYES , TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE WATCHING THE ROAD . UNFORTUNATELY , IF YOU ARE WEARING GLASSES ( WHICH I MUST WHEN I AM DRIVING ) THE LIGHT REFLECTING OFF THEM MAKES THE UNIT THINK I AM NOT WATCHING THE ROAD . FOR BACKROUND, I WAS A HIGHWAY PATROL OFFIGER FOR 30 YEARS . I AM VERY ATTENTIVE TO THE ROAD AHEAD OF ME . IT SEEMS HYUNDAI KNOWS OF THIS PROBLEM , WHICH SUDDENLY DISENGAGES THE CRUISE CONTROL , CAUSING RAPID DECELERATION OF THE VEHICLE . AT HIGHWAY SPEED , THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS . IT HAS BEEN NOTED ON MANY FORUMS , AND MY DEALER KNOWS ABOUT THE PROBLEM , BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO DISCONNECT THE CAMERA FROM THE SYSTEM . THIS IS REALLY AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN .

While I was driving, my new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe suddenly experienced issues with the digital dashboard panel and a loss of speed. The dashboard went haywire, and my speed dropped from 60 mph to approximately 25 mph on the highway. The vehicle also struggled to accelerate from a standstill. After shutting off the vehicle and waiting a few minutes, the dashboard appeared to reset, and everything returned to normal. I immediately returned the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not find any issues as no codes were displayed. The abrupt decrease in speed while driving is a significant concern, as it could have resulted in a rear-end collision on the highway.
