I was waiting at a stop light when the light turned green. I accelerated and the truck sputtered and cut off. The truck started to sound off with alarms and give a warning on the dash for me to put it in S or N. When doing such and attempting to restart the vechicle it continued to cut off and sound off with alerts. This happened a out 9 times in a row. I was sitting on a busy 6 lane roadway where vechicles go well above the speed limit. I have 4 children under the age of 7 including a 6mo old who were very scared. This is DANGEROUS and I am reading on Hyundai owners forums that this issue is not uncommon at all and Hyundai is well aware of the issue. We could have easily been seriously hurt or killed! I just purchased the vechicle and have only 2,3xx miles on it. It's a 2023 Hyundai Palasade Calligraphy AWD white exterior. I've also noticed that the safety sensors seem to do more hard than good. I've had it happen about 5 times now that a car was approaching behind my vechicle and my vechicle would violently come to a abrupt stop, jerk the entire vechicle (scaring everyone in the truck) and it will freeze up not letting me drive. This does a lot more harm than good and again is dangerous. There were times that I needed to drive to get away from the situation and my truck froze up because it thought a vechicle was to close.
All vehicle safety sensors going off at once. Speedometer indicated car is going 0mph while car is clearly being driven
The vehicle is shutting off while in transit. All warning lights come on and the parking break engages. Dealership says no error codes recorded and can’t recreate. Issue captured on video.

When I left the parking lot and drove a half a mile my engine shut off and a loud beep and red triangle warning came on that read engine failure and to start engine. I pressed the start button and drove about 500 feet and got the same warning and shift off engine. Once again, I pressed the start button and drove about 300 feet to pull out and f traffic. I parked and shut f the car and sat for about 2 minutes. When we started the car and drove I have not had another incident but am too afraid to drive far. I text my salesman at Mike Morgan Hyundai in Shreveport to tell him what happened. I was told to have it towed next time it happens
The engine shut off suddenly while driving 3x times in 17 days of ownership, brand new car. The engine shut off suddenly while driving 3x times in 17 days of ownership, brand new car. It happened leaving the highway (decreasing speed around 40-55mph) and the brake doesn't work properly when it happens (makes it hard to break and then suddenly brake at once). I was happy no one was in front of me for 3x and I could stop safely without hurting anyone. No warning or indicator light showed before problem happen, and even after. The car is currently at dealer for inspection, have a video of the dash when it happens (lights flashing and emergency beeping), dealer didn't took this serious, opened a safety complain at Hyundai case #20305592 Attached photo of dashboard with the message and lights after last stop This is a SERIOUS problem that could lead to a fatality soon or later, hope is only with me that this is happening.

2PE24021 · Inadvertent Seat Belt Unlatch
Opened Aug 7, 2024 · Closed Dec 12, 2025
Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts
On August 7, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE24021 to investigate complaints alleging inadvertent unlatching of seat belts in model year (MY) 2020-2023 Hyundai Palisade vehicles manufactured by Hyundai Motor America. The complaints alleged that, without warning, the seat belts sometimes inadvertently unlatch, increasing the risk of injury due to full loss of seat belt protection in the event of a crash. As a result of information exchanged as part of the investigation, on April 3, 2025, Hyundai initiated a warranty extension policy for seat belt buckles on model year 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles in the U.S. and Canada. Hyundai subsequently initiated a request for warranty parts returns to support further analysis by the buckle supplier, ZF Lifetec. The warranty extension (reference “Z06”) noted that certain 2020 – 2025 model year Palisade vehicles may experience abnormal seat belt buckle(s) operation. Hyundai extended the warranty coverage for the seat belt buckle under this condition to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use. This action is valid for original and subsequent owners. On September 11, 2025, Hyundai filed recall 25V-607 for certain 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. Hyundai explained in its recall filing that the subject vehicles are equipped with seat belt buckle assemblies in the front row and second row outer seating positions that may contain out-of-specification components manufactured by the supplier. These components can cause interference within the latch channel, potentially increasing friction, particularly under cold ambient temperatures. Improperly produced seat belt buckles, combined with slow insertion of the seat belt tongue plate, may prevent the seat belt buckle from fully latching. The recall remedy is currently under development. In view of Hyundai’s recall action, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation, but will continue to monitor the issue as a remedy is developed and implemented. ODI will take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
