Recall # 26V034000 for my 2023 Hyundai Palisade has not been resolved after 9 months since it was issued. Dealership all say they do not have the parts to remedy this recall. I have made repeated attempts to get this issue resolved and I have contacted the manufacturer for assistance but they have not resolved the issue. I get the run around. The dealership say they do not have the parts the manufactures says that the dealerships should have the parts. I find it totally unacceptable that the dealerships cannot resolve this serious safety issue. It is a critical safety issue that should be resolved.

On June 27, 2026 I started the vehicle and every warning light came on and the gauge cluster started cycling through system failure warnings for most every component/system on the vehicle. The vehicle was barely drivable, with no power steering, no backup camera, no AC, inoperable gauges, no safety/driver aids, and hard shifting. It was taken to Bentley Hyundai in Huntsville the same day. The vehicle was diagnosed with a CANBUS failure and after weeks of troubleshooting they said it was a bad engine wiring harness. The new harness was installed under our extended factory warranty this week. I was informed today, August 29, 2026, that there are still electrical issues with the vehicle. I am concerned about the safety of this vehicle now due to the length of time it has been at the dealership, 60+ days, and continuing issues even after replacement of a major component of the electrical system.

I received a recall notice on 3/19/2026 which stated my 2023 Palisade failed to meet safety standards due to "ejection mitigation." I called Hyundai directly for information after the dealership I purchased the car from had no information for me. Hyundai's customer service representative told me the third row was not safe for occupants and that I should not use it because in a roll over it could cause injury or death. She said there haven't been any reported yet but still, don't use it. They did not have a timeframe when it would be fixed. I called my dealership again on 5/20/2026 and asked for any information, compensation, a buyback, or if anything was available to me and they said "we are in the same boat as you. We haven't been able to sell our stock for 4 months. You've only had your notice for 2 months but we've been dealing with this for 4. Some people have been trading their cars in but other than that, there's nothing we can do for you." They said to call Hyundai directly. I called Hyundai and was told there was no information, no remedy, no compensation for the loss of use, no loaner car, or any other options. The representative then said "unfortunately we also cannot escalate your case because there have been no fatalities yet." I'm filing this complaint because it has been over 60 days since I received notice that my vehicle is unsafe, which has resulted in the total loss of use for 3 seats and yet I am still making the full monthly payments on this vehicle to the dealership. And, neither the dealership nor Hyundai is offering any remedy or assistance in any way. I should not have to wait until there is a fatality for Hyundai to act on my vehicles recall and offer some sort or resolution or compensation. I paid full price for the vehicle and should have use of all the vehicle or be given an alternative. Thank you

There is an ejection mitigation recall and no remedy from Hyundai in the near future. This sets us up for future injury to my children in the event we are in an accident. This also will result in a lawsuit by us to Hyundai should I or my children are injured or maimed in the event thus vehicle does not properly protect us in an accident. The seat belts are recalled as well and parts are on back order. The solution from Hyundai is to continue to use the defective belts with minor children and hope for the best. This is simply unacceptable.

My vehicle is subject to Recall 292 (NHTSA 24V-034). Hyundai has admitted in writing that this vehicle violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 226 because the third-row side curtain airbags fail to meet ejection mitigation requirements. I routinely transport minor children in the third row. Hyundai's official notice confirms this defect increases the risk of injury or death to occupants in this row during a rollover. Despite this life-threatening safety risk and the fact that there is no available remedy, Hyundai National Consumer Affairs (Case #XXX) has denied my request for a repurchase. They are citing the vehicle's mileage as a reason for denial, effectively forcing me to continue transporting my children in a vehicle that is federally non-compliant and admitted to be unsafe in a collision. On September 11, 2025, Hyundai of New Port Richey (Lithia Motors) executed a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) contract and delivered a 2023 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] act day the manufacturer issued a federal Stop-Sale for Recall #283 (Seatbelt Latch Failure). Internal documents show the CPO sale relied on mechanical inspection data from 34 days prior (August 8, 2025). There is no documentation of a point-of-sale safety check performed on September 11, resulting in the vehicle being sold despite the active Stop-Sale order. Presumably, because the sale occurred on the exact date Recall #283 was issued, we were excluded from the manufacturer's October safety mailing. We unknowingly operated the vehicle for seven months without knowledge of the seatbelt defect, though we did receive subsequent notices for campaigns 9C9, 9C8, and Recall #292 (Ejection Mitigation). Combined, the active status of Recall #283 and Recall #292 leaves the vehicle with zero safe seating positions. Furthermore, internal records show the vehicle failed a computer diagnostic test ('NG' code) with a severely depleted 11.90V battery prior to purchase. The CPO sale was executed without resolving this documented fault. This correlates to a severe electrical issue where the parked vehicle spontaneously unlocks. Attached documents: "Palisade Sales Paperwork" - Documents the 9/11/25 purchase date. "Palisade Repair Order" - Documents the electrical/battery failure. (I also possess a video from the Hyundai technician confirming the battery issue). "Final Evidentiary Summary" - Chronological timeline of the transaction. "Palisade Inspection Form" - August 8, 2025, internal document recording the battery failure and outdated recall checks. This was not provided to us with the 9/11/25 purchase paperwork, and the customer signature is left blank. PE24021 · Inadvertent Seat Belt Unlatch

Opened Aug 7, 2024 · Closed Dec 12, 2025

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts

On August 7, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE24021 to investigate complaints alleging inadvertent unlatching of seat belts in model year (MY) 2020-2023 Hyundai Palisade vehicles manufactured by Hyundai Motor America. The complaints alleged that, without warning, the seat belts sometimes inadvertently unlatch, increasing the risk of injury due to full loss of seat belt protection in the event of a crash. As a result of information exchanged as part of the investigation, on April 3, 2025, Hyundai initiated a warranty extension policy for seat belt buckles on model year 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles in the U.S. and Canada.  Hyundai subsequently initiated a request for warranty parts returns to support further analysis by the buckle supplier, ZF Lifetec. The warranty extension (reference “Z06”) noted that certain 2020 – 2025 model year Palisade vehicles may experience abnormal seat belt buckle(s) operation.   Hyundai extended the warranty coverage for the seat belt buckle under this condition to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of original retail delivery or date of first use.  This action is valid for original and subsequent owners. On September 11, 2025, Hyundai filed recall 25V-607 for certain 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles.  Hyundai explained in its recall filing that the subject vehicles are equipped with seat belt buckle assemblies in the front row and second row outer seating positions that may contain out-of-specification components manufactured by the supplier.  These components can cause interference within the latch channel, potentially increasing friction, particularly under cold ambient temperatures. Improperly produced seat belt buckles, combined with slow insertion of the seat belt tongue plate, may prevent the seat belt buckle from fully latching. The recall remedy is currently under development. In view of Hyundai’s recall action, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation, but will continue to monitor the issue as a remedy is developed and implemented. ODI will take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.

On August 15, 2022, Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) filed a safety recall (NHTSA Recall 22V-627) of 122,919 model year (MY) 2020-2021 Hyundai Palisade vehicles produced from April 10, 2019 to November 30, 2020. This recall addressed windshield wipers that may function intermittently or stop functioning when impeded by the accumulation of snow and/or ice at the bottom of the windshield. Intermittent or inoperative windshield wipers could reduce driver visibility while operating the vehicle in inclement weather, increasing the risk of a crash. On December 2, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Recall Query (RQ) after receiving 6 consumer complaints alleging windshield wiper failures while driving during wintry precipitation in MY 2021-2023 Hyundai Palisade vehicles (subject vehicles). These vehicles were excluded from Recall 22V-627. At the time of opening the RQ, the root cause and recall remedy were still unknown and under investigation. Thus, the RQ was opened to assess the scope and remedy of Recall 22V-627.In its February 10, 2023 response to ODI's information request on the RQ, Hyundai provided 17 customer complaints and 75 warranty claims related to the alleged defect in the subject vehicles. Hyundai stated that the wiper systems in the subject vehicles are equipped with a different wiper motor design than the earlier-built Palisade vehicles included in Recall 22V-627. Hyundai also stated it does not believe there is an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety in the wiper system in subject vehicles. On March 17, 2023, Hyundai filed a new safety recall (NHTSA Recall 23V-180) of 167,085 MY 2021-2023 Palisade vehicles produced from December 1, 2020 to November 22, 2022 when a design change was implemented. The design change, as well as the recall remedy (for both Recalls 22V-627 and 23V-180), is a redesigned driver-side wiper arm that allows for additional snow accumulation between the wiper arm and the cowl, thus reducing the load on the wiper motor and circuit breaker activation. In view of the recall action being taken by Hyundai, ODI is closing this RQ. The agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. The ODI complaints cited above can be viewed at NHTSA.gov under the following ODI identification numbers:11521365, 11517359, 11512295, 11509965, 11509253, 11508868, 11502146, 11501278, 11497343, 11494119, 11458548, 11450975, 11450045, 11449381, 11443330.
