DRIVING DOWN A HILL WHEN ANOTHER TURNING INTO SAME LANE, HIT DRIVER IN FRONT. PUSHED BUMPER INTO MOTOR AREA. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. TOOK TO DEALER AFTER INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR CHECKED TO SEE WHY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS COMING OFF AND ON . THE DEALER TOLD THE OWNER THAT THE AIRBAG HAS GONE BAD AND COULD EXPLODE. DEALER TOLD OWNER THAT AIRBAG IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT IS ON THE VEHICLE. *AK
VEHICLE WAS HIT AT 2:00 DEGREES AT 30MPH AND AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK
THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF AND ON AND A POPPING NOISE COMES FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN THE LIGHT GOES ON. VEHICLE WILL BE REPAIRED. *AK
THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND PARTIALLY IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND THE HOOD WAS SPLIT AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS GOING 30-40 MPH. *AK

THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WAS IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED AND COULD CAUSE THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE FROM INCREASED ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: AN INCREASE IN THE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MIGHT PREVENT THE AIR BAG FROM ACTIVATING DURING A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR TO DETERMINE IF IT CONTAINS A TERMINAL HOLDER. IF IT DOES NOT, ONE WILL BE INSTALLED.
