FUEL LINE CONNECTION CAME OFF FUEL PUMP WHILE RIDING ON THE INTERSTATE @ 65 MPH, SOAKING RIDER'S RIGHT LEG, ENGINE, AND BACK TIRE OF MOTORCYCLE WITH A GALLON OR MORE OF GASOLINE. GASOLINE SOAKED REAR TIRE LOST TRACTION AND LOCKED UNDER BRAKING, ENGINE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION, NARROWLY AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THAT BOTH FULLY-INSTALLED FUEL LINES COULD BE PULLED OFF THE GAS TANK FUEL PUMP CONNECTIONS BY HAND WITHOUT DISENGAGING THE PLASTIC RETAINER CLIPS. THE CLIPS THEMSELVES LOOK UNDAMAGED; THE CLIPS AND LINES ARE STOCK, UNMODIFIED AND ORIGINAL TO THE MOTORCYCLE. SEE ATTACHED PICS. I ALSO HAVE VIDEO OF EASILY PULLING THE FUEL LINES OFF THE GAS TANK WITHOUT DISENGAGING THE RETAINERS.
