2024 Honda Prologue

The digital instrument cluster and infotainment/display system repeatedly FAILS WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I AM DRIVING. The screens suddenly glitch, shut down, or go completely black, causing me to lose access to critical vehicle information. The vehicle remains available for NHTSA or manufacturer inspection upon request. This is an ongoing and unresolved safety defect. I did NOT experience the blank-screen condition before Honda Recall 26-056. The recall specifically addressed a condition that could cause the instrument cluster/infotainment display to intermittently go blank while driving. The recall repair was performed April 13–14, 2026. Within approximately one week AFTER that repair, my screens began randomly shutting off while driving. When the failure occurs, the displays can remain blank for approximately 5–20 seconds. During that time, I unexpectedly lose visibility of critical information, including vehicle speed and warning indications. A driver should never suddenly lose access to essential operating and safety information while a vehicle is moving. The unpredictable failure also creates a serious distraction because I must continue driving without knowing when the displays will return. Honda dealers have made MULTIPLE unsuccessful repair attempts. On April 20–22, the dealer performed a factory-data reset. The failure continued. On May 4–7, the dealer contacted Honda Techline, identified an internal defect involving the A11/radio control module, replaced the module, and programmed/configured the system. The defect STILL was not corrected. I reported the continuing screen glitching/blanking on August 6, 2026. There is generally NO WARNING before the screens fail. They can suddenly go completely blank while the vehicle is being driven. Despite a recall repair, subsequent diagnosis, software/programming work, a factory reset, and replacement of an electronic control module, the same dangerous malfunction continues to occur.

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my Honda Prologue and believe the repeated failures may indicate an unresolved defect involving the vehicle’s electronic, braking, ABS, propulsion, transmission/shift, or vehicle-control systems. On [XXX], the vehicle first displayed an error/warning. I contacted the Honda dealership in Vancouver, Washington, and was instructed to bring it in for inspection. I was out of town and could not do so immediately. On [XXX], I brought the vehicle to the dealership in the morning. They kept it overnight and returned it to me on [XXX] at approximately 2:00 PM, telling me the problem was a “system glitch” and had been fixed. On [XXX], less than 24 hours later, I was driving home after completing a Lyft ride when the vehicle displayed: “One-Pedal Driving Unavailable – Use Brake for Stopping.” At the same time, the ABS warning and multiple other safety-system warnings illuminated.The vehicle then became immobilized in the middle of an intersection. I was in an unsafe location and had to contact police for assistance. The vehicle remained unable to operate for approximately two hours. After multiple restart attempts, it suddenly became operational again, allowing me to drive it to the Honda dealership.I have photographs and videos documenting the warnings. One photograph shows the “One-Pedal Driving Unavailable – Use Brake for Stopping” warning with the ABS and multiple other warning indicators illuminated. Another shows “Service Transmission Now – Unable to Shift Soon.”This is especially concerning because Honda had already been notified, had possession of the vehicle for approximately a day and a half, and told me it had been repaired. The vehicle then experienced a serious failure the following morning and became disabled in traffic. This is not simply an inconvenience. I own a Prologue Touring on a lease and it has defective drive axles and every time I brought it to Honda Service Dept they said that Honda said that the will not repair or replace them. When turning the vehicle, a clicking noise can be heard, intermittently. I have reported this to the dealership, they tell me they heard nothing. The car now has 20,000 miles and will need a tire rotation soon, I will then report it again. It appears the cv joint is the problem with many of these 2024 Honda Prologues. I’ve read, that a broken cv joint could cause loss of power, broken brake lines, and loss of control of the car. This clicking occurs mostly on hard turns, which I avoid due to potential damage and loss of control. There are no warning lights seen for this problem.

My 2024 Honda Prologue (VIN [XXX]) produces a loud clicking/knocking noise from the front drive axles when turning, most noticeable during low-speed turns and when accelerating out of a turn. The noise began shortly after I acquired the vehicle at low mileage, consistent with the widely reported front CV joint/axle defect affecting 2024-2026 Prologues. This is a safety concern, not merely a noise. The defect involves internal drive-axle joint irregularities that can progressively worsen and impair propulsion, steering response, and drivability, with risk of eventual axle failure and loss of vehicle control while driving. Honda acknowledged this condition in a XXX dealer Tech Line but directed dealers not to repair it if no visible damage is found, leaving the defect unaddressed. Replacement axles reportedly fail again. No effective repair is currently available. I request that NHTSA investigate this drive-axle defect. The car makes clicking sound when I make a left or a right turn. The sound is getting louder and more obvious. I took it Honda dealership twice and was told it doesn’t interfere with the driving then they wouldn’t fix it. They will investigate it further. It has been a year and the dealer or the manufacturer hasn’t said anything else.

The front-left CV joint/drive axle system malfunctioned. A loud repetitive clicking began during turns at approximately 1,050 miles. The vehicle and components are available for inspection.The condition creates safety concerns because the vehicle sometimes feels unstable while turning and the steering/drivability regularly feels abnormal. The tires have also developed uneven wear, raising concerns about reduced traction and handling.Separately, the vehicle has twice unexpectedly lurched forward from a complete stop. During both incidents, One-Pedal Driving and Auto Hold were active, the Auto Hold indicator was illuminated, and the brake pedal was not being pressed because Auto Hold was maintaining the stop. The vehicle suddenly moved forward without intentional accelerator input, as though the brakes released. I immediately applied the brake. During one incident, the vehicle struck another stopped vehicle, causing significant damage to that vehicle. No damage occurred to my Prologue. These incidents occurred both before and after the CV joint replacement.Hendrick Honda Bradenton confirmed the clicking condition after I brought the vehicle in for service in February 2025. A replacement CV joint arrived and was installed in approximately March 2025. The dealership informed me that replacing the CV joint did not correct the problem. The clicking continues. I was subsequently told I could drive the vehicle without limitations and that there was no safety risk.The vehicle has been inspected by Hendrick Honda Bradenton.Manufacturer, police, insurance inspection details to be added if applicable.There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages before the clicking condition or either unintended-forward-movement incident. The clicking first appeared at approximately 1,050 miles.

Experiencing the CV joint clicking issue. Can hear a clicking issue when turning left or right at slower speeds. I am aware that this is an ongoing issue with Honda Prologues and would like to force a recall to repair the issue.
