My driver's side mirror spontaneously cracked. There was no damage done to the mirror that would cause this to happen. The mirror was intact when I pulled into my garage. An hour later I left again and the side mirror was cracked top to bottom. It is not difficult to get a non- distorted view out of my driver's side mirror and I feel it impacts the BSI as well. I have an appointment on 3/20 for inspection at the dealer. There were no issues prior to this happening. My photos show that there are no nicks, scratches or anything around the mirror at all. Also the mirror is not shattered, it's simply a clean crack down the middle.

Failed component: The windshield washer system is faulty – particularly the passenger side. Honda refers to it as a “wet arm wiper” system. More specifically, the washer fluid is emitted from the wiper arm instead of a more direct spraying method. As such, it does not spray out evenly across the windshield. It basically dribbles onto the windshield, with a delay, and winds up getting dumped onto the bottom of the windshield and the outer edge of the wiper blade. The small amount of washer fluid that does get onto the windshield simply gets mixed with the debris on the windshield and dirties and obscures the windshield even more and makes it even harder to see out of. This is particularly dangerous when the vehicle in operation when the windshield washer is used and the windshield become smeared and obscured in traffic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request Safety risk: Upon utilizing the windshield washer system while driving in traffic, the windshield becomes smeared and obscured to a point where the operator cannot see very well out of the windshield. Reproduction by dealer: The issue was reported to the dealer on 1/28/2025 and dismissed as “normal wet arm operation”. Inspections: As stated above, the issue was reported to the dealer on 1/28/2025 and dismissed as “normal wet arm operation”. Warning / messages / symptoms / first appeared: There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The issue first appeared shortly after the purchase date of 4/26/2024; the first time I used the windshield washer system.

On [XXX] I parked my 2024 Honda CR-V EXL on my driveway as I do every night. Night time temperatures that night dipped into the digits, around 6 or 7 degrees. The next morning, as I prepared to take my wife to work, I noticed a vertical crack on the driver's side rear view mirror. My vehicle is still less than one-year old. Online I have read that this is not an isolated occurrence with Honda CR-Vs. I will take my car back to the Honda dealer in Bethesda, MD tomorrow, January 29th. Hi - Happy New Year! When temperatures dropped in late Nov/ early Dec 2024, my driver side mirror cracked when I did a remote started. I park my car in my own driveway (safe neighborhood and also with security camera) and there was no external damage. Car is new (bought in March 2024) and had less than 7,000 miles.
Windshield wipers throw out fluid when wipers are up. Windshield not cleaned properly from snow and dirt causing not to see the road. Snow is coming again.
The 2024 Honda CRV windshield wiper do not fully wipe rain water on the driver side, leaving 3" 1/2 on driver pillar that is untouched by the windshield wiper. This reduces driver visibility during rain. Due to this concerns my wife do not feel safe driving this vehicle in the rain or snow.

I've contacted 2 Honda dealerships & they want > $200 to repair.

On driving to the other side of the state from my home to visit family on [XXX] in Michigan, I was driving 70-75 miles per hour. It takes close to 3 hours of driving one way. There was a lot of insects hitting my windshield and when I used the wipers the water just flew over the windshield, not getting my window wet to enable the wipers to clean my windshield. If I am driving 30-50 miles per hour that doesn't happen. I could not get my windshield clean of the bugs which inpaired my vision. I talked with the service department and they said it is the way the wipers are made and they can not do anything about it. I did call Honda Customer Care Line and I have a case #[XXX]. Both side mirrors shake vigorously while driving at any speed. It is very hard to focus and see the image in the side mirrors. Most of the time I have to use the rear view mirror to see behind me. The shaking is so severe that sometimes if I’m looking at the side mirror trying to see it will make my head hurt.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.

Honda (America Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 CR-V vehicles. The tire identification number (TIN) is missing the four-digit date code. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 139, "New Pneumatic Radial Tires for Light Vehicles."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: An owner whose TIN information is missing may not recognize that their vehicle is involved in a safety recall and continue to drive on recalled tires, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 27, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is BIS.

On November 29, 2023, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Engineering Analysis (EA23003) to assess allegations of momentary increase in steering effort in model years (MY) 2022-2023 Honda Civic, 2023MY Honda CR-V, and 2023MY Acura Integra vehicles (subject vehicles). The complaints received by ODI alleged that the subject vehicles experienced a momentary increase in required steering effort (described as “sticky steering”) occurring mostly at highway speeds after driving for an extended amount of time; these complaints could not be duplicated during dealer service technicians’ quick test drives. The complaints had been received over the previous two years with most occurring with low vehicle mileage. The steering gear of these vehicles is aided by an electrical power assist unit. This power assist unit inputs force on the steering rack via a worm gear and worm wheel assembly. During PE23005, Honda stated this condition of momentary increase in steering effort occurs due to two factors within this power assist unit. First, during manufacturing, the steering worm wheel goes through annealing and component conditioning processes. These processes cause internal stress and strain within the steering worm wheel. This strain is slowly released over the first few months of the vehicle life. Over time, the released strain causes deformation of the teeth on the worm wheel, causing the worm gear to catch on the worm wheel. This catching results in the driver’s momentary increased steering effort. Second, the manufacturing process did not guarantee consistent grease application and, therefore, some subject vehicles received insufficient grease which contributed to the momentary increase in steering effort. During EA23003, ODI further analyzed the potential safety related consequences of the momentary increase in steering effort. NHTSA’s Vehicle Research and Test Center (VRTC) duplicated the allegations of increased steering effort. In addition, VRTC discovered the steering worm wheel and worm gear tended to push grease out of the meshing area, resulting in large amounts of grease resting on top of the worm wheel. Information Request responses collected and reviewed by ODI showed Honda had also discovered this additional root cause during NHTSA’s EA. In addition, Honda discovered the preload of the worm wheel gear spring was set too high, increasing the gear slide load and resulting in higher friction and increased torque fluctuation when steering. The number of consumer complaints made to ODI continued to increase with the expansion of scope from the PE to the EA. Additionally, during EA23003, ODI received ten complaints alleging a crash, in addition to the 13 complaints ODI had received as of the time it opened EA23003. In total, 23 crashes have been reported to ODI due to this alleged defect. On October 3, 2024, Honda filed NHTSA Recall No. 24V-744 to address this defect. The recall will provide consumers with a new steering worm wheel gear spring with a decreased load. Additionally, dealerships will add additional grease and relocate any grease sitting on top of the worm wheel back into the meshing area. The scope of this recall includes all Honda vehicles that were manufactured with this specific improperly produced steering worm wheel and spring. In view of the recall action being taken by Honda, ODI is closing EA23003. NHTSA reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
