I own a 2023 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. At approximately 42,000 miles, all of the warning lights illuminated while driving. The warnings included Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Parking Collision Warning, and multiple other system alerts. At the same time, I experienced a loss of electric power steering assist, increased steering resistance, and clicking/popping noises coming from the steering rack. The Honda dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a failed Electric Power Steering (EPS) steering rack and quoted nearly $5,000 for the repair. A critical steering component should not fail at such low mileage. This is a serious safety concern because the failure affects the driver's ability to safely control the vehicle. Similar steering components have been recalled on other Honda models, but the 2023 Honda Accord has not been included. I believe this defect should be investigated before it results in crashes or injuries.

Component/System: Integrated Control Module (ICM) CPU — software defect identified under NHTSA Recall 25V-785 (Honda Recall TN2). The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: While driving on a California highway, I attempted to accelerate to pass another vehicle and the car failed to accelerate normally — it did not respond with expected drive power. This is consistent with the recall defect, which states the ICM CPU can reset while the vehicle is in operation, causing the vehicle to lose drive power and increasing the risk of a crash. This occurred at highway speed with other vehicles present, creating an immediate danger. Dealer Confirmation: I have visited an authorized Honda dealership twice regarding this recall — once upon receiving the recall notification in November 2025, and again in January 2026 during a scheduled oil change. On both occasions, the dealer confirmed the recall was on file for my vehicle but stated they did not have the software or equipment available to perform the remedy. The repair has not been completed as of the date of this complaint, June 26, 2026 — more than seven months after the recall was issued. Inspections by Other Parties: The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other outside parties in connection with this issue. Warning Lamps or Prior Symptoms: No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared prior to or during the acceleration failure incident. The recall defect relates to an internal software condition that does not appear to trigger a visible warning before the power loss occurs. The highway incident described above is the only symptom I have personally observed that may be connected to this defect.

My home was a total loss. On June 16, 2026 I received a call while out of town that my home was on fire and it was a total loss. Statements from the neighbors and fire marshal were that the garage was on fire and then spread to the rest of the home. The only thing in the garage that could have started the fire was my Hybrid vehicle.

I took my car in because the electric parking brake warning appeared while driving. I also looked it up and saw many others were having this issue. So basically Honda charged me for something that’s an ongoing Honda issue and passed it off as a glitch and cleared the codes. Clearly Honda needs to recall the 2023 accord because this isn’t safe and clearing the code isn’t taking care of the problem. Furthermore charging me for diagnosing this is completely wrong knowing this is not a problem only I am having. Honda needs a recall before there are serious accidents.

This is a second formal supplemental complaint. Vann York Honda sold this car as new, but a Honda America provided Carfax proved it was a prior personal use vehicle. The car has catastrophic phantom braking, causing a physical friction rash on my skin. Multiple witnesses are now afraid to ride in the car. The vehicle has suspension failures documented by irregular tire readings. Despite an active federal recall, Flow Honda refused mandated repairs. During a prior headliner repair, Flow Honda returned the car with a collapsed headliner and a Maintenance Minder A127 code. The oil life dropped from 45% to 5% without added mileage, yet I was told to drive it. Weatherstripping has been replaced. Recall work for seatbelt (which came apart) and fire risk in the engine. Manager Chris Moore falsely claimed a brake warning was merely a remote start issue. He has also shows a lack of understanding of the NC lemon laws. I have recorded complaints from well under 24,000 miles. Flow Honda held the car for four months, then claimed they did not know it was there. They sent a text acknowledging the recall but failed to perform it, trying to ship the car back to me to hide its 120-day neglect. The car has lot rot, tire rot, and an open battery exposed since [XXX]. My insurance company ignored warnings of retaliation and forced the car back to Flow Honda. They recorded a medical diagnosis of a panic attack on my paperwork without medical expertise and falsely claimed I requested a collision shop despite no collision occurring. This matter has reached my state representatives and the Governor. As a [XXX], this tax-exempt vehicle is a medical necessity. I am being denied federal safety repairs and discriminated against based on my sex, gender, and [XXX]. My first report to NSHTA was done March 2025. RQ24006 · Front Seat Belt Assemblies May Be Missing The Rivet That Secures The Quick Connector And Wire Plate

Opened Apr 4, 2024 · Closed Mar 26, 2025

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts; Seat Belts:front

On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.’s (Honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. Recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.Subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the HR-V, but only for the driver position for the Accord and Accord Hybrid. The recall remedy for 23V-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. The inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. Parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. If no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. There have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed. Additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. As of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. In view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, ODI is closing this Recall Query (RQ). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
