When overtaking Semi-trucks on the passenger side, as I approach the truck's cab, my vehicle turns off cruise control and sometimes applies the brakes while the vehicle icon will show an obstetrical is in my lane. On a few occasions, the emergency brake bar flashes and the car decelerates. Once I react (usually by applying the gas) the warnings go away. When I called Honda, they said to go to the dealer. The dealer states the vehicle is within specs and there is nothing they can do.

This happened on [XXX] at roughly [XXX] pm. I bought the new 2023 hybrid accord ex-l in June 2023 and the car only had 12413 miles. I was driving in Slidell, LA along [XXX] road towards [XXX]. I was driving 45 mph with adaptive cruise control. Suddenly there were lots of warning lights on. I don't really remember clearly how many warning lights since I was shocked. But I think that the "check engine", "tire pressure", "road departure", "traction", and "brake" were on. It was like fire work and at the same time, the car was losing power and the power steering was becoming stiff. Luckily there were no cars behind me and I was right by the entrance of a subdivision. I was able to turn into the entrance of the subdivision and the car basically stopped by the stop sign, kind of like dead. I was blocking the road and had to restart to car. But luckily I was able to restart and then there was only one warning messages left, the brake (please see photo). It says " Brake system problem, Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer". It was after 7 pm and I didn't think the repair department was open. So I took a photo and slowly drove to Abita Spring. After parked my car for maybe two hours and I then restarted the car, everything seems ok. No warning lights at all. So I drove back home. Was busy on [XXX] and [XXX] (Wednesday and Thursday), finally went to the dealer on Friday, [XXX]. There was no codes and the dealer cannot do anything even after showing the photo. Was told to pull over to the dealer and they need the code. It's been two weeks and the car seems fine. But if someone drives on highway, ~70 mph, this can be fatal. And HONDA needs to address this! Suddenly, many warning lights came on (see photos) including that power steering was reduced, electric parking brake system issue, and TPMS issue. The car felt heavy to drive, but I still had control. I pulled over and turned off the car. After a few minutes, I turned on the car, and the warnings were gone and it drove normally. The hybrid battery was well-charged, so I don't think this was the problem. The previous time was around 2 months ago. That time I had to turn the car off and on twice before the warnings went away. I had taken the car to the Honda mechanic, but they found nothing wrong.

This is in reference to the current recall on my vehicle for the front seatbelts. I have called a few dealerships over the last few months trying to get it fixed. At first they said there was no info about what to do, then followed by the "theres no parts" right now so there's nothing that can be done. I was able to finally take it in to get fixed as the service advisor told me that they are able to fix it. A few days passed and they told me "actually we dont have the parts to fix it" and told me that they wouldn't even test if it passed or failed (needing repair or not) becuase if it failed they would not be able to give me the car back for safety concerns. If it is such a safety concern then I believe that I shouldn't be driving the car at all. I just have to "deal with it" and take the risk that my car might or might not be affected and in turn if I get in an accident it could cause me more harm. I feel that at this point, about 6 months after the recall was announced, if it cannot be fixed the car as whole needs to be recalled / bought back and not put customers in a position to keep wondering when this is going to get fixed.

RQ24006 · Front Seat Belt Assemblies May Be Missing The Rivet That Secures The Quick Connector And Wire Plate

Opened Apr 4, 2024 · Closed Mar 26, 2025

Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Seat Belts; Seat Belts:front

On April 4, 2024, the Office of Defects Investigations (ODI) opened RQ24006 to investigate American Honda Motor Co.’s (Honda’s) proposed remedy for recall 23V-782 as well as scope of the vehicles involved. Honda issued recall 23V-782 on November 21, 2023, which concerns certain model year (MY) 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Honda Accord Hybrid, and Honda HR-V vehicles. Recall 23V-782 states that the driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioner assemblies may have been manufactured without a rivet that secures the pretensioner quick connector and wire plate. Recall documentation states that seat belt pretensioner assemblies that are missing the rivet will not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury.Subject defective seat belt assemblies are installed as original equipment for both the driver and front passenger positions for the HR-V, but only for the driver position for the Accord and Accord Hybrid. The recall remedy for 23V-782 instructs the technician to inspect both front seat belt pretensioner assemblies and, if necessary, replace them. The inspection procedure requires the technician to utilize a pull force gauge to determine whether the subject component is missing the subject rivet and requires replacement. Parts requiring replacement are determined by whether the pretensioner quick connector separates from the pretensioner assembly while the technician is pulling on the seat belt. If no separation occurs, then the part is determined to be not defective and not require replacement. There have been no reports alleging a failure of seat belt pretensioner assemblies after the inspect and replace remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed. Additionally, no comparable failures have been observed in field data for similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall. As of the 4th quarter of 2024, the recall completion rate is at approximately 84% of the total recalled population. In view of the lack of failures after the remedy for recall 23V-782 was performed, and the lack of failures in similar vehicles outside of the scope of the recall, ODI is closing this Recall Query (RQ). The Agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.
