FRONT CAP OF A 2005 HAULMARK TRAILER HAS SPLIT OPEN. THIS CREATES AN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION. FRONT CAP OF A 2005 HAULMARK TRAILER HAS SPLIT OPEN. THIS CREATES AN UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION. THE PLASTIC CAP COULD BE TORN FROM THE FRONT OF THE TRAILER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND CAUSE A COLLISION, DAMAGE OR INJURY TO OTHERS ON THE HIGHWAY. I CANNOT USE THE TRAILER DUE TO THIS CONDITION. THE PURCHASE DATE IN APPROXIMATE. MY REGISTRATION WAS ISSUED 3/2005. HAULMARK HAS REFUSED TO RETURN MY CALLS AND EMAILS REGARDING THE CONDITION. I HAVE LEARNED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT CAPS ON THESE TRAILERS. THE DATE BELOW IS THE DATE I FOUND THE DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT. *JB

CERTAIN TANDEM AXLE ENCLOSED TRAILERS WITH A GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR) OF 10,000 POUNDS AND UNDER, MAY HAVE DEFECTIVE BALL COUPLERS (MANUFACTURING DATE OF N0315) WHICH COULD FAIL IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: SHOULD THE COUPLER FAIL, THE TRAILER MAY DISCONNECT FROM THE TOWING VEHICLE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy: OWNERS SHOULD INSPECT THE COUPLER TO SEE IF THE DATE CODE IS N0315. HAULMARK WILL ARRANGE FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE NECESSARY REPAIRS WITHOUT CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 15, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HAULMARK AT 1-866-393-6053.
