The contact owns a 2020 Harley Davidson FLTRK Road Glide Limited Motorcycle. The contact stated that while riding he was slammed to ground. The contact stated that it felt like another vehicle had struck the motorcycle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The motorcycle was taken to the local dealer where the contact was informed that the motorcycle was operating as designed. The motorcycle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was concerned about riding the motorcycle. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21E088000 (Equipment). The manufacturer was not contacted. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was unknown.

On 2 occasions the motorcycle has abruptly gone into limp mode. I took it to the dealership under warranty and they ran historic codes, P1511,P1100 and P2135 which is voltage correlation error. They tried duplicating the issue without success. I understand this is a historic problem with Harley and has to be addressed by searching the wiring system which apparently they did not do. This is a continuing dangerous situation as it can shut the bike down at any time and cause a serious if not fatal accident.
Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain 2019-2022 Trike and CVO Trike and 2020-2022 Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles. Please refer to Addendum A for specific vehicle model details. Due to a software error, the brake lights may illuminate without the rider applying the brakes. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Unintended illumination of the brake lights may confuse other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the software on Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles. On Trike and CVO Trike motorcycles, a new pressure switch will also be installed. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 2, 2022. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0635.
