PURCHASED TIRES IN JULY 6TH 2007@"MOTOR CYCLE SUPER STORE .COM" HAD THEM MOUNTED AT ALL AMERICAN HARLEY DAVIDSON HUGHESVILLE MD JULY 23RD 2007. THE TIRES HAD LESS THAN 200 MILES ON THEM. SEPT 2ND RIDING ON US 1 NORTH TO PA. TRAVELING 50 MPH,IN SUNNY DRY WEATHER AT ABOUT 75 DEGREES, NO TRAFFIC , NO CONSTRUCTION ON ROAD, OUR REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. CAUSING US TO LOSE CONTROL HIT GUARD RAIL AND INJURIES TO BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. DRIVER HAD TBI, 8 BROKEN RIBS # 3- 10, PUNCTURED LUNG, BROKEN COLLAR AND SHOULDER BLADE BONES ON RIGHT SIDE, COMA AND HOSPITAL STAY OF 5 WEEKS AND CONTINUED MEDICAL CARE AND SURGERIES. THE PASSENGER RECEIVED 5 BROKEN RIBS AND SHATTERED COLLAR BONE ON RIGHT SIDE AND A BROKEN LEFT THUMB. BONE GRAPH SURGERY MAY BE NEEDED TO REPAIR COLLAR BONE. THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000. IN DAMAGE TO THE BIKE. 300,000 TO DRIVER AND 50,000 IN MEDICAL EXPENSES TO THE PASSENGERS THAT HEALTH INSURANCE PAID OUT. SO FAR. *TR

04V218000 · Exterior Lighting:tail Lights

ON CERTAIN DYNA, XL, AND TOURING MOTORCYCLES, THE TAIL LIGHT BULB CAN FALL OUT OF THE SOCKET.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: THE TAIL LIGHT AND THE BRAKE LIGHT BECOME INOPERATIVE, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BULBS. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 3, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT HARLEY-DAVIDSON AT 1-414-342-4680.
