TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 GULF STREAM CONQUEST SUPREME TRAVEL TRAILER. WHILE THE TRAILER WAS UNHITCHED AND PARKED AT A CAMP SITE, AN ELECTRICAL BURNING ODOR WAS DETECTED AND SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE ELECTRICAL PANEL LOCATED INSIDE THE CAMPER UNDER THE REFRIGERATOR. A MAINTENANCE WORKER FROM THE CAMP SITE WAS CALLED. HE OPENED THE FUSE PANEL AND NOTICED THAT THE WIRES WERE MELTED. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CAMPSITE OWNER UNPLUGGED THE OUTSIDE UNIT AND INFORMED THE CONTACT NOT TO REPLUG THE CAMPER. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT AT THE CAMPSITE. BEAN STATION AUTO SALES (LOCATED AT 974 TN-31, BEAN STATION, TN 37708 (865) 993-3308) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AND COULD NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING A CALL BACK. THE CONTACT FOUND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V197000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) ONLINE, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED IN 2013 AND WAS FOR 2001 MOTOR HOMES. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT APPLICABLE.

Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Gulf Stream Conquest and B Touring Cruiser motorhomes, models 6314, 6316, 6317, 6320, 63111, 5291 and 5316. These vehicles do not have intermediate side marker lights and have front and rear side marker lights that are spaced more than thirty feet apart. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Without intermediate side marker lights, the motorhome would have decreased visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Gulf Stream will notify owners, and dealers will install intermediate side marker lights, free of charge. The recall began on May 18, 2018. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is 04172018.

Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Conquest and B Touring Cruiser Class C motorhomes manufactured September 24, 2015 through October 24, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the in-dash radio unit assembly was improperly wired allowing the DVD to operate while the vehicle is in motion.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the DVD monitor is operating and viewable while the vehicle is in motion, it may be a distraction to the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Gulf Stream will notify owners, and dealers will disable the viewing of the DVD monitor while the vehicle is being driven, free of charge. The recall began on December 16, 2016. Owners may contact the Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Gulf Stream's number for this recall is GM112316.
