26V010000 · Exterior Lighting:turn Signal

Jan 15, 2026

Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain 2026 Trail Boss and Ameri-Lite trailers. Wires in the taillight harness may be reversed, causing the turn signals to activate in the opposite direction as the driver intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Turn signals that fail to indicate the driver's intention to change direction increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to tow their trailers until the repair has been completed. Dealers will rewire the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 31, 2026.
