What failed & is it available? The infotainment/radio module failed entirely due to an OTA software update (Codes: U18B4, U0184, B1325). The vehicle and component are fully available for inspection upon request. How was safety at risk? The federally mandated backup camera is now too faint/dim to read, destroying rearview visibility. Bluetooth/hands-free phone pairing is completely disabled, increasing driver distraction risks and preventing compliance with hands-free driving laws. Is it confirmed by a dealer? Yes. A local GMC dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed the module is bricked, quoting $2,286.00 for a hardware replacement. Inspected by manufacturer/others? It has been inspected and confirmed by the local GMC dealer network, but GM corporate has refused to physically inspect or resolve it. Prior symptoms? No prior warning lamps or symptoms occurred. The system functioned perfectly until it instantly crashed during the remote update on August 10, 2026, at 9:00 PM.
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and GMC Acadia All-Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles. The fuel tank rollover valve may not provide a proper seal in the event of a rollover crash.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A fuel tank rollover valve that does not properly seal can result in a fuel leak during a rollover crash, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and replace the fuel tank shell if the rollover valve is found to be dislodged or missing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 27, 2022. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loose toe link can separate and cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the left-rear suspension and replace the fastener if it is loose or missing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 11, 2022.
