I have a 2019 GMC Acadia that has had no vehicle damage and less than 29K miles. The vehicle has condensation in the headlamp on the right front. No damage at all to the vehicle. Clearly a defect in the seal. Doesn't even have to rain and moisture will be apparent in the headlamp. GMC has offered to pay 60% of the repair costs of a $400 part and $1200 labor bill. This clearly needs to be investigated since they have had issues in the past of headlamps issues in the Acadia models and others.

The Rear Hood was opened to get groceries. All of a sudden the hood came down on my back. I had to push the hood up manually, and tried to close with remote or with button on the hood but the Rear hood would not close. I then had to manually close the hood. On August 11, 2021 I took the car to the dealer and they replaced both Rear Hood Struts that wear leaking fluid. This SUV is only 2 years old with 16000 miles and should not be having these type of safety issues that can potentially be life threatening.

When I put Shifter in PARK, the dash indicator states the car is in PARK. I then push the Start/Stop button to turn the car off, but the dash displays car is not in PARK. Sometimes the car will not shutoff or the car just beeps until I push the Stop/Start button. I cannot lock doors to leave the car. When this occurs or when left in this state the battery runs down, which leaves me stranded. This is certainly a safety issue on various levels. It the car really in Park! What if it on a hill and starts to roll into me or someone else.. Scary!!

Occasionally my vehicle will say "Shift to Park" when I turn off the vehicle, but the vehicle is clearly in Park. It has been happening more frequently lately. I have researched this problem and it appears it has been a problem with several other GMC Acadia's as well.

We are experiencing the "SHIFT TO PARK" issue on our 2019 GMC Acadia at 44,000 miles. We are experiencing the "SHIFT TO PARK" issue on our 2019 GMC Acadia at 44,000 miles. We have been told we need to pay $200 for the fix PLUS more than $200 for the battery which has undoubtedly been impacted by the first issue. Needless to say, we are not happy that we'll be charged for a known GMC issue and we are aware there are class action suits around this issue in various states. We have been loyal GMC owners, but we are now concerned about the safety issues this presents our family. Ironically, we are searching for a new truck at this time and this recent hardship will impact our brand choice now as well as in the future. Please let us know how this issue might be rectified.

WHEN I GOT TO WORK THIS MORNING, I PUT MY 2019 ACADIA IN PARK AND TRIED TO TURN OFF THE CAR. AN ALERT POPPED UP THAT SAID, "SHIFT TO PARK," BUT THE CAR WAS ALREADY IN PARK. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND IT CORRECTED, BUT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN TWO DAYS THIS HAS HAPPENED.

VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALER TWICE, THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM, BUT AFTER 6 MONTHS THE SAME SOUND RETURNED. THE SECOND TIME THEY TRIED TO LOOSEN AND RETIGHTEN THE EXHAUST BUT THE SOUND RETURNED IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARD. THE DRONING SOUND IS MORE LIKELY TO OCCUR AFTER EXHAUST IS WARMED UP.

Feb 25, 2021

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, XT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, 2018-2021 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, 2019-2020 Chevrolet Blazer, Silverado 1500, GMC Acadia, Sierra 1500, and certain Continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N212329050.

Oct 29, 2020

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Cruze and Buick LaCrosse, 2018-2020 Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain, 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, 2019-2020 Buick Encore, Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Acadia, and 2020 Cadillac XT6 vehicles. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick Customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006.
