I am filing this formal complaint against Genesis Motor America (a division of Hyundai Motor America) for the repeated failure to repair my defective 2024 Genesis GV70. The vehicle has been a nightmare of safety hazards, financial ruin, and life degradation, with over 240 days out of service in 8 months. This saga began as a dream purchase, but quickly turned into a relentless horror story of mechanical and ADAS failures, dealer incompetence, and manufacturer indifference. The vehicle has been in the shop on six separate occasions under three (3) different dealers, with collective downtime exceeding 240 days, far surpassing Florida's Lemon Law thresholds (3+ repair attempts for the same defect or 15+ days out of service).

I'm seeing frequency emergency braking when trying to back into a clear parking space. This occurs about 8-10 times a year. The sensors are clean. There are no doors or lift gates ajar.

•Malfunctions: •Brakes: Failed multiple times, including during a critical incident on 11/9/2024, where I couldn’t stop the car, risking a severe collision. •Steering: The steering system failed during the same event, making the car uncontrollable. •Acceleration: The vehicle unexpectedly accelerated on multiple occasions, including on 4/16/2024, creating dangerous driving conditions. •These components are available for inspection. •Safety Risks: •My safety was at extreme risk when the car unexpectedly accelerated, and I couldn’t stop it, narrowly avoiding a collision with gas tanks, which could have been catastrophic. •Inspection and Diagnosis: •The dealership inspected the car on 4/16/2024 and 10/11/2024, but no faults were found, despite my concerns. They only drove the car briefly and did not adequately investigate the braking or steering issues. •No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were found, contradicting the malfunctions I experienced. •Inspection by Others: •The car was assessed by my insurance company, who initially missed wheel damages, later correcting the report after I pointed it out. •I also reached out to Genesis customer care but received no comprehensive response regarding the ongoing safety issues. •Symptoms Prior to Failure: •On 11/9/2024, the check engine light illuminated, but by the time I could schedule an appointment, it disappeared. Previous brake and steering issues were noted but not adequately investigated.
