The contact owns a 2023 Genesis GV70 equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: Primacy Tour, Tire Size: 255/40/R21, DOT Number: (N/A). While driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started violently swerving from right to left, nearly causing a crash into a concrete median. The driver was able to regain control of the vehicle and safely drove to the residence. A tow truck driver was called to the residence and discovered that the rear driver’s side tire had extensive tread separation. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who determined that the rear driver’s side strut, brake line, fuel filler neck, inner fender, parking brake wiring harness, and rear driver’s side brake line were damaged during the failure and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 11,900.
Hyundai Motor America (Genesis) is recalling certain Genesis 2022-2026 GV70, 2023-2025 G90, 2021-2025 G80, and GV80 vehicles. Fuel may leak at the pipe connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten, or replace the fuel pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 20, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Genesis' number for this recall is 033G. Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.
