The service brake system has a recurring uneven/abnormal braking issue. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The concern has been reported to a Genesis dealer multiple times. After prior complaints of uneven braking, the dealer resurfaced/cut the rotors several times, but the problem kept returning. New brakes and rotors were installed in November 2025, but the uneven braking concern has continued. The safety concern is that the vehicle may not brake evenly or predictably, which could affect stopping stability and control. The dealer now states they cannot reproduce the concern, but at the same time is recommending another brake/rotor replacement due to uneven wear. This seems inconsistent because the brakes and rotors were recently replaced, and repeated uneven wear may indicate an unresolved issue with the braking system, calipers, rotors, ABS/stability system, suspension, or related components. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer/manufacturer representative. The dealer also stated the lower control arms are fine, but the root cause of the recurring uneven braking has not been clearly identified. No crash or injury has occurred to date. Warning lights or messages are UNKNOWN. I am concerned that the actual defect has not been properly diagnosed and that simply replacing brakes/rotors again may not address the underlying safety issue.

There were scratches on the wheel, but no other body damage or contact. Four airbags violently deployed in a spectacular overreaction which could have caused injury. I am concerned for public safety. The auto manufacturer refuses to respond to me.

The high-pressure fuel pump failed, resulting in insufficient fuel delivery to the engine. This caused a significant loss of engine output, with the vehicle unable to accelerate beyond approximately 35 mph or stalling around 60 mph and exhibiting very slow acceleration. The lack of adequate power created unsafe driving conditions. I was nearly rear-ended while making a right turn and again while attempting to merge onto the interstate, as the vehicle could not accelerate as expected. There were no warning lights or prior indications of a problem on the dashboard. The issue first occurred on 2/21/2026, and I immediately stopped driving the vehicle. The vehicle has since been inspected by the Charlotte Genesis dealership, which diagnosed a high-pressure fuel pump failure.

When speaking with the Genesis technicians, they informed me that this happens frequently with this make and model becuase of the way the grille was manufactured. The radiator of my 2022 Genesis GV70 was damaged due to debris. When speaking with the Genesis technicians, they informed me that this happens frequently with this make and model becuase of the way the grille was manufactured. There is essentially no protection to the radiator which can cause damage to it without your knowledge. I was told it doesn't take a large rock to damage it and you probably wouldn't even know that it happened. Damage to the radiator can cause major issues to the vehicle while driving, potentially causing a major accident on the highway. The repair to the car was not covered, as they claim it was an external factor that caused it, even though the poorly designed grille should protect something as important as a radiator.

Vehicle has severe condensation on both headlights (Driver and Passenger) sides. This issue was addressed before and light were replaced by dealership. This is definitely a design defect that allows condensation to accumulate. This has affected proper light projection which would not be adequate for reasonable visibility during dark hours. The amount of liquid(condensation) could potentially cause an electrical failure or spark in the front part of the vehicle. This issue has been broadly discussed in Genesis Forums with no permanent solution in sight.

The coolant system on my 2022 Genesis GV70 has repeatedly failed despite multiple repairs. On April 2, Greenway Genesis diagnosed a coolant leak and replaced several components. The problem returned, and I brought the vehicle back on April 29 because the coolant appeared low again and the engine sounded louder than before. On October 25, Holler Hyundai confirmed another coolant leak, this time involving the integrated thermal management system. The recurring coolant loss places my safety at risk because it can lead to engine overheating, sudden power loss, or engine failure while driving. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by two separate Genesis/Hyundai service centers. However, the root cause has not been identified or corrected, and the manufacturer has not provided a permanent solution. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by authorized dealerships, and repair invoices are available for review. Despite these failures, no coolant warning light or dashboard message ever appeared, which raises concern that a sensor or monitoring component may not be functioning correctly. There were no warnings or messages at any point before or during the coolant loss. The vehicle is currently at Greenway Genesis and is available for inspection. Based on multiple repeated failures and the absence of any warning indicators, there appears to be an unresolved defect that could create a safety hazard while the vehicle is in operation.

We (wife and I) are the owner of a 2022 Genesis GV70. The vehicle has had multiple dangerous incidents affecting steering and driver control. Most recent event (dated 9/11/25): While driving at ~30 mph on city streets, an alarm sounded, the steering suddenly became very stiff, and the word “Emergency” appeared on the dashboard. This condition lasted briefly but made steering extremely difficult. Prior events (approx. six over the past two years): While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle has suddenly begun to swerve side to side with an alarm sounding — even though the lane assist feature was turned off. These incidents occur randomly, without warning, and cannot be reproduced on demand. Each time, she had to fight the steering to maintain control. Dealer inspection: The vehicle was taken to the Genesis dealership after earlier incidents. They found no diagnostic codes and offered no explanation or repair. Safety Concern: This vehicle appears to have a serious safety defect affecting steering control and stability. The unpredictable loss of normal steering or sudden emergency intervention poses a high risk of an accident. I request that NHTSA investigate this issue to determine whether it is part of a wider defect requiring recall or corrective action.

Hyundai Motor America (Genesis) is recalling certain Genesis 2022-2026 GV70, 2023-2025 G90, 2021-2025 G80, and GV80 vehicles. Fuel may leak at the pipe connection between the fuel pipe and fuel rail.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A fuel leak increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and tighten, or replace the fuel pipe as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning July 20, 2026. Owners may contact Genesis customer service at 844-340-9741. Genesis' number for this recall is 033G. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning April 11, 2026.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 7, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 022G. This recall is an expansion of recall number 23V-630.

Remedy: Dealers will secure the seat belt pretensioners with a cap, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 14, 2023. For GV60 owners, Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed April 14, 2023. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 012G. This recall supersedes and expands recall number 21V-796. On August 8, 2022, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Recall Query (RQ) based on 3 incidents alleging front seat belt pretensioners that may rupture during deployment, on model year (MY) 2020-2022 of various Hyundai and Kia Models, resulting in 3 injuries (note: one incident occurred outside the U.S. and its territories).Between October 2021 and March 2023, Hyundai and Kia have filed the following 11 safety recalls for pretensioner rupture: NHTSA Recall No. 21V-796, 22V-069, 22V-123, 22V-127, 22V-218, 22V-354, 22V-447, 22V-458, 22V-816, 23V-094, and 23V-210.Hyundai/Kia have stated that the abnormal deployment of the pretensioners is due to over-pressurization of the pretensioner pipe that can cause metal fragments to enter the vehicle occupant compartment, which can result in injury to vehicle occupants.The various makes/models covered by the above recalls include approximately 405,900 certain 2020-2022 Hyundai Accent, 2021-2022 Hyundai Elantra and Elantra HEV, 2021-2022 Hyundai Santa Fe HEV, 2022-2023 Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV, 2020-2022 Hyundai Venue, 2021-2023 Genesis G80, 2023 Genesis G80 EV, 2023 Genesis G90, 2023 Genesis GV60 EV, 2022-2023 Genesis GV70, 2021-2023 Genesis GV80, 2021-2022 Kia Sorento HEV, and 2022 Kia Sorento PHEV.In response to ODI's investigation, in December 2022, Hyundai notified ODI that they would be conducting testing to validate subject vehicle seat belt pretensioners. It was determined by Hyundai during testing, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioners may explode upon deployment in the event of a crash which can cause metal fragments to enter the vehicle occupant compartment.Hyundai thus notified ODI of their decision to proceed with a safety recall, to expand the scope of the previous safety actions.In view of the recall actions taken by Hyundai and Kia, ODI concerns have been addressed. The agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances.

ODI met with representatives from Hyundai on several occasions during the investigation to discuss testing progress and data. As a result of the testing, Hyundai was able to simulate the pretensioner failures. It was determined by Hyundai during testing, the front driver-side and/or passenger-side seat belt pretensioners may explode upon deployment in the event of a crash which can cause metal fragments to enter the vehicle occupant compartment.Hyundai thus notified ODI of their decision to proceed with a safety recall, to expand the scope of the previous safety actions.In view of the recall actions taken by Hyundai and Kia, ODI concerns have been addressed.
