ON JULY 24, 2020, WHILE DRIVING WEST ON INTERSTATE 70 COMING INTO VAIL, CO, WE WERE ALERTED BY OTHER DRIVERS OF A PROBLEM WITH OUR VEHICLE. WE DISCOVERED THAT THE 2018 FOREST RIVER V-TREC V3 POP-CAMPER WE WERE PULLING LOST THE SPARE TIRE MOUNTED TO THE REAR BUMPER OF THE CAMPER. THE SPARE TIRE MOUNT PULLED THROUGH THE BUMPER WHILE THE BRACKET STRAPS ATTACHED TO THE TOP OF THE BUMPER SHEERED OFF (SEE ATTACHED PHOTO). TO OUR KNOWLEDGE, THE SPARE TIRE AND MOUNT FELL OFF ON I-70 WHILE DRIVING AT 65MPH. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY FAILURE THAT FOREST RIVER HAS ALREADY ACKNOWLEDGED PER NHTSA DOCUMENTATION ON OTHER YEARS, MAKES, MODELS OF THEIR RVS WITH RECALLS AND REPAIRS BUT THUS FAR, FOREST RIVER MANAGEMENT IS UNWILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRAILER AND HAVE COMMUNICATED BY EMAIL AN UNWILLINGNESS TO OWN THE PROBLEM.
