3 TIMES THE ENTIRE WHEEL, HUB, STUDS ASSEMBLY HAVE FLOWN OFF THE TRAVEL TRAILER WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY. TWICE IN INDIANA & ONCE IN MISSISSIPPI. THE FIRST TIME IN MISSISSIPPI I THOUGHT THE TRAILER HIT A LARGE BUMP ON THE ROAD AND THE ENTIRE TIRE ASSEMBLY WENT FLYING OFF DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE SECOND TIME SOMEONE PULLED UP NEXT TO US IN INDIANA TO CHICAGO AND SAID YOUR TIRE IS MISSING. THE THIRD TIME IN INDIANA ANOTHER MOTORIST TOLD US WE WERE MISSING A TIRE. THE LAST 2 DIFFERENT TIMES I'VE STOPPED AT A TRUCKERS WEIGH STATION JUST TO MAKE SURE I WASN'T OVER WEIGHT. EACH WEIGHT TICKET WAS UNDER RECOMMENDED LOAD CAPACITY. THE ENTIRE TIRE, RIM, LUG NUTS, STUDS AND BREAK HUB AND FLOWN OFF FULLY ATTACHED. I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO RECOVER THE TIRE SINCE I NEVER KNEW EXACTLY WHEN OR WHERE THEY HAVE FLOWN OFF TO. CAMPING WORLD WANTS TO PUT ON THE 4TH AXEL ON MY UNIT AND I DON'T WANT THEM TO PUT ON THE SAME LIPPERT AXEL BECAUSE I WILL BE GETTING THE SAME RESULT. I'VE LOOKED FOR RECALLS ON THE 2015 SURVEY MODEL#321BHTS BUT DIDN'T SEE MY V.I.N # SO THEN I STARTED THINKING THE LAST 3 AXELS WERE INSTALL AND FAILED WERE IN 2017 ONCE IN MARCH THEN AUGUST & FINALLY DECEMBER. I PURCHASED THE TRAILER NEW ON 9/21/15 WENT ON A FEW SHORT TRIPS AROUND THE TRI-STATE AREA. WENT ON A SPRING BREAK TRIP, 1 SUMMER & 1 WINTER VACATION WITH MY FAMILY. I HOPE KNOW ONE WAS HURT, INJURED OR KILLED FROM THE WHEELS FLYING OFF HITTING OTHER MOTORISTS OR LAYING IN THE ROAD CAUSING OTHER TYPES OF ACCIDENTS. I'VE HAD NO HELP FROM CAMPING WORLD IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE OR FOREST RIVER OTHER THAN LIPPERT AXEL MFG. HAD SENT A NEW AXEL TO CAMPING WORLD TO INSTALL UNDER WARRANTY. HOW EVER I'VE HAD TO PAY FOR ALL THE BODY DAMAGE, TIRES, RIMS, AND OTHER REPAIRS. I BOUGHT A TEMP. AXEL IN MISSISSIPPI TO GET THE UNIT BACK TO CHICAGO THEN CAMPING WORLD THREW OUT MY AXEL I PURCHASED TO INSTALL THE MFG. SPECIFIED AXEL.*DT*JB*DT*TR

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Surveyor recreational trailers, models SVT243RBS and ORSVT243RBS. The affected vehicles have Federal Certification Placards that list an incorrect tire and rim size from what is actually installed on the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the operator installs tires that are the size that is indicated on the placard, it can cause poor vehicle handling, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Forest River will notify owners and mail them a corrected Federal placard label, free of charge. The recall began on December 2, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119 extension 205. Forest River's number for this recall is 37-11052015-0106.
