THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER SEEPED THROUGH THE SPEAKERS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOSCANO RV (2531 E. PACHECO BLVD, LOS BANOS, CA 93635) AND THE TECHNICIAN APPLIED SEALANT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO CALIFORNIA RV (110 S. CHEROKEE LANE, SUITE B, LODI, CA 95240, (209)-263-7040) WHERE THE SIDE COVERS OF THE RV WERE PULLED OUT AND SEALED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED WHEN IT RAINED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE RV SPECIALIST AND FOR ADDITIONAL SEALANTS. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND ADVISED THE CONTACT NOT TO GO TO THE RV SPECIALIST AGAIN DUE TO EXCESSIVE COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150.
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2016 Stealth Evo recreational vehicle trailers, models CSJT280RKS and CSJT290QBS, manufactured January 7, 2016, to March 18, 2016. The affected vehicles may have had tires of the wrong load range installed which may result in premature tire failure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims and Motor Home/Recreation Vehicle Trailer Load Carrying Capacity Information for Motor Vehicles with a GVWR of 4,536 kilograms (10,000 pounds) or less."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Unexpected tire failure increases the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will supply new correct tires and rims, free of charge. The recall began on July 18, 2016. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-909-873-3777 extension 52. Forest River's number for this recall is 67-05192016-0199.
