The contact owns a 2016 Forest River Prime time Crusader equipped with Trailer King tire, tire line not available, and tire size RST28/80r/16. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH the rear passenger side tire blew out and torn the flooring in the RV and the sliding. The contact replaced the tire. The RV was taken to the dealer for diagnosis and stated that a lift kit needed to be placed under the suspension. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that they're not required to perform NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V140000 (Equipment, Structure). The failure mileage was 500.

The Federal Placard incorrectly states that the tire pressure should be 65PSI when the correct tire pressure is 80PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The incorrect tire information may cause the operator to underinflate the tire, leading to premature tire wear and increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Forest River will notify owners and will provide a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began on July 24, 2018. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025. Forest River's number for this recall is 48-0756.
