The contact owns a 2019 Forest River Palomino trailer equipped with LionsHead tires, Tire Line: Castle Rock, Tire Size: 225/75/R15, DOT Number: JULT1MT1916. The contact stated while driving at 62 MPH, the driver’s side front tire inadvertently exploded. The contact stated he was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the failure was due to the tire being five years old. The tire was replaced. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the passenger’s side front tire exploded and damaged the plastic guard. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic who did not provide a diagnostic; however, the passenger’s side front tire and the driver’s side and passenger’s side rear tires were replaced. The dealer was made aware of the failure informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in an unknown recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 850. The approximate tire failure mileage was 850.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Palomino trailers. The antenna wing may not be properly secured to the roof, allowing it to detach from the roof while moving.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: If the antenna detaches while moving, it can be a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, repair or replace the antenna, free of charge. The recall began November 23, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-269-432-3271. Forest River's number for this recall is 400-1243.

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2019 Forest River Palomino hardside truck campers. The Federal Placard incorrectly states the dry weight as 1,591lbs, when the correct dry weight is 2,405lbs. This error may result in the vehicle being overloaded.

Consequence & remedy

Consequence: An overloaded vehicle may have reduced handling performance, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Forest River has notified owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect Federal Placard with a corrected Placard, free of charge. The recall began on July 23, 2018. Owners may contact Palomino customer service at 1-269-432-3246. Forest River's number for this recall is 400-0783.
