WHILE DRIVING ON A RURAL COUNTRY ROAD LESS THAN 40 MPH I HAD A CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF STEERING. ALTHOUGH I IMMEDIATELY BRAKED, THERE WAS NO DIRECTIONAL CHANGE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL. LESS THAN 10 DAYS PRIOR, I WAS TOLD BY A FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE STEERING WAS 'A LITTLE LOOSE.' THERE WAS NO MENTION THAT I COULD HAVE SUCH A LOSS OF STEERING OR THAT IT NEEDED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. UNFORTUNATELY, I LIKENED IT TO 'YOUR TIRES/BRAKES/BELTS ARE A LITTLE WORN.'
