FORD PLACED 4"X6" PIECE OF FOAM OVER THE SMART JUNCTION BOX IN AN EFFORT TO "BANDAGE THE PROBLEM, RATHER THAN CORRECTING THE CAUSE. AS WATER ENTERED THE CABIN AREA, IT SOAKED THE SMART JUNCTION BOX TO FAIL WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN THE PROXIMATE CAUSE FOR THE ENGINE DYING. END RESULT IS THAT THE SMART JUNCTION BOX MUST BE REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED. *KB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT HEARD AN UNFAMILIAR NOISE AND THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES BLEW OUT. AFTER A DIAGNOSIS, SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE FAULTY. THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED TWO DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO BE REPAIRED AND SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR FAILED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06E089000 (SUSPENSION:FRONT). THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
ENGINE WILL CUT-OUT/HESITATE UNDER ACCELERATION OR DURING STEADY DRIVING. ALMOST CAUSED COLLISION ENTERING INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. 2005 MUSTANG GT WITH ONLY 13,000 MILES. *TR
