DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH IN THE RAIN AND SHIFTING FROM 3RD TO 4TH GEAR, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HYDROPLANE. THE CONTACT LET UP OFF THE GAS, AND STEERED INTO THE SKID. THE STEERING DID NOTHING. THE VEHICLE SPUN 180 DEGREES, WHICH FORCED THE CONTACT TO ATTEMPT TO TURN THE VEHICLE IN A COMPLETE CIRCLE. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED TO ATTEMPT TO RECOVER, HOWEVER THE TRACTION CONTROL PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM CORRECTING THE SKID. THE VEHICLE WENT OVER AN EMBANKMENT AND BECAME LODGED IN ROADSIDE MUD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED.
