Just picked up vehicle after having a new battery installed. Was getting pop up on dashboard every few seconds that electrical saving mode was active. Then all of a sudden the truck shut off while driving about 45 mph on a busy road. Dash said switch to neutral to start vehicle which i tried but nothing happened. Truck coasted to a stop and would not start or even shift into neutral to push it off of the road. The dashboard was flashing pretty much every warning possible including stop safety, shift system failure, parking brake , battery saver active etc. The truck continued to not start or shift. Tow truck was called and it was towed home.

Fuel tank failure at 18,000 miles and less than 3 years of ownership. I noticed that the vehicle had a strong gasoline smell when I was around it. When looking under the truck, I could see that there was a fuel leak coming from the fill pipe inlet into the fuel tank itself. Took the vehicle under warranty to the ford dealer, and was told that the hose clamp was loose connecting the fill pipe into the fuel tank itself. Was sent on my way with the vehicle, and noticed a smell of gasoline and fuel not even two months later. Took it back to the dealer and was told that they were unable to replicate it. Once the weather got cold again, took the vehicle back after noticing a much larger leak and smelling fuel, and am now being told by ford that the fuel tank does in fact need to be replaced as the tank is leaking from the fill pipe inlet. I am no longer under warranty and was quoted $1100 for this repair. Not only do I find this to be a safety concern as leaking gasoline is extremely dangerous and flammable (plus there are vapors in the air in my garage) but felt that my dealership did not do their due diligence to resolve this issue properly, and now I am on the hook for an $1100 repair that should’ve been taken care of when the vehicle was under warranty. No warning lamps were lit alerting me to this problem, I noticed it by smelling gasoline in my garage near the vehicle.

Every time I park the truck i get a warning that the battery is low and I should drive it to recharge the battery. I drive the truck but it will not recharge. 2) The check engine light comes on. I went to the auto parts and scanned for diagnostics. The scan came back as a fuel tank pressure sensor failure. 3) When I drive the truck it smells as if something is burning. 4) The fuel gage is not showing accurate reading. 5)The fuel door wont open unless I have the truck turned on and then it takes several minutes. 6) After driving on the freeway I came to a stop on the off rap before entering a main street and the truck died.
Just recently I've noticed that when the engine is running and I'm stopped or parked the truck will "lurch". Almost as if I'm trying to hit the gas while parked or holding the brakes. Just recently I've noticed that when the engine is running and I'm stopped or parked the truck will "lurch". Almost as if I'm trying to hit the gas while parked or holding the brakes. Since this has started, I've also noticed that from 25mph to 60/65mph there is a violent vibration ONLY under acceleration (20-25% on the power meter) while the engine is running. Issue worsens depending on the mode the truck is in (worse under sport, better under ECO/Slippery). Whole truck will shake, body, steering wheel and all. Not sure if these two issues are related? I'm not sure if these are considered to be powertrain or if it's the engine. Not sure if I could have it inspected upon request because I can't pin point any mechanical abnormalities visually. I feel my safety and others may be a concern because the unknown of the issue. I'm not sure if the vehicle is breaking down, will break down, lose power or whatever the case may be. The vehicle has been reported to Ford for these issues with no resolve. No warning lamps or messages. The issue appeared to come out of no where. Wasn't doing it one day, began doing it the next.
My vehicle completely shutdown while we were driving on interstate 15 doing 77 mph. When everything shut off we had no brakes and no way to put the hazards on. It’s literally died while we were driving 77 mph.
Rubber filler tube that connects to gas tank is leaking! I see many people online with the same issue! The leak is coming from the connection where the hose clamp is not the tank!!! The clamp is tight!

While driving at approximately 40mph, the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid suddenly went into "Limp Mode" with speed instantly dropping to approximately 10mph. Did not lose power, the dashboard stayed lit but showed no warnings. Vehicle would not accelerate above 10mph. This happened without warning. I pulled over and shut off the vehicle then restarted it and after that, it operated fine. If I had been driving on a highway at a higher speed I could have had a major accident. Currently trying to get a service appointment, waiting on a call back from the Ford dealer Service Manager. Again, there were no warnings or error messages before or after the problem occurred.
Loss power, gear selector "D" flashing. Dashboard has check engine light on, displays "service AdvanceTrac and Hill start assist not available. Loss power, gear selector "D" flashing. Dashboard has check engine light on, displays "service AdvanceTrac and Hill start assist not available. Could have got into an accident if not for fact I was just leaving a light, going maybe 35 MPH. After stopping, I let my foot of the break and it was accelerating on it's own. I pulled over again and now it's just a check engine light. I've had this vehicle in 5 times for recalls, waiting on the sixth one. Ford actually told me it was a lemon but I've kept it as a new car to replace it was too expensive. This one is almost paid off.

On April 22, 2024 my truck had a loss of power foe the second time while driving on the interstate with my family. There was no warnings or anything, the truck simply lost power and I had to pull off the road at which point it went into limp mode. I had several lights on my dash, Mai ly the check engine light and my mobile app recorded a fault with the drive train. This is now the second time this has happened in a few months. I have taken it to the dealer both times and they've told me that nothing is wrong with my truck. I explained that it is extremely dangerous but they said they can't do anything because the truck isn't reporting any issues. Please put pressure on ford to fix this. It is getting out of control.

1RQ24014 · Loss Of Motive Power
Opened Nov 15, 2024 · Closed Oct 10, 2025
Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Electrical SYSTEM:12V/24V/48V Battery
On January 31, 2024, The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Preliminary Evaluation (PE24002) to investigate loss of motive power allegations in model year (MY) 2021 Ford Bronco Sport vehicles. Consumers reported a loss of engine power accompanied by complete electrical system failure either while driving or after stopping at a traffic light or stop sign. The vehicles generally could not be restarted, and the incidents were commonly diagnosed by dealerships to a failed 12-Volt (12V) battery. On April 12, 2024, Ford issued safety recall 24V-267 covering 456,565 MY 2021-2024 Ford Bronco Sport and MY 2022-2023 Ford Maverick vehicles. The recall addressed loss of motive power resulting from sudden degradation of the 12V battery during the drive cycle. The recall remedy consisted of software updates to the body control module and the powertrain control module. The updated software aimed to provide warning to consumers when the battery is failing and inhibit certain vehicle functions which can lead to loss of motive power incidents. Additionally, Ford removed the existing 12V Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) as both a service component for the subject vehicles and original equipment for newly built Bronco Sport vehicles (during MY 2024 production), replacing it with a more robust absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery. The same AGM battery had been incorporated into Ford Maverick production in late 2022. Following recall 24V-267, ODI received loss of motive power complaints in vehicles that had previously received Ford’s software-based remedy. Consumers reported that they did not receive warnings related to the 12V battery or the vehicle’s electrical system before the loss of power. On November 15, 2024, ODI opened Recall Query (RQ24014) to assess the effectiveness of the 24V-267 recall remedy. On January 19, 2025, Ford issued recall 25V-019 covering 272,817 MY 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and MY 2022-2023 Ford Maverick vehicles. The new recall addressed the same hazard as 24V-267 but required replacement of the existing 12V battery with an AGM battery as the remedy. Ford reported that following the opening of RQ24014, it evaluated several field-returned 12V batteries, and determined that EFBs produced by battery supplier Camel potentially contained internal manufacturing defects causing loss of motive power. Ford further concluded that the software updates provided in the 24V-267 recall remedy were unable to detect battery failures quickly enough to avoid loss of motive power. Vehicles previously within the scope of recall 24V-267, but outside of the scope of recall 25V-019, are equipped with EFBs produced by a different battery supplier (Clarios). When recall 25V-019 was issued, Ford had not identified any Clarios EFBs exhibiting the same failure mode as the Camel EFBs. In light of Ford’s recall action, ODI is closing this Recall Query. The agency will continue to monitor loss of motive power complaints in Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with Clarios EFBs and reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
