The contact owns a 2020 Ford F-59 Motor Home Chassis. The contact received notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V202000 (Suspension, Power Train) however, the parts to do the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs as the recall notice was received several months ago. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it remained for the past two months. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and the contact was informed that parts were not available. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms part available. The contact stated that the rear wheel bearing issue was repaired. The vehicle was deemed safe to drive by Ford for the recall regarding the suspension issues. The contact has since sold the vehicle.

The contact stated that upon purchasing the RV, the RV remained at the dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V202000 (Suspension, Power Train). The RV dealer then towed the RV to a Ford dealer where the recall repair was being completed. The contact followed up with the RV dealer and was informed that the Ford dealer had damaged a brake part in the process of completing the recall repair and was awaiting the arrival of the replacement part. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 F-59 vehicles. The bolt that secures the intermediate steering shaft to the steering gear box may be improperly tightened, which could result in separation of the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear box.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: Separation of the intermediate steering shaft from the steering gear box can result in the loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect the intermediate shaft bolt, replacing it if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 1, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S13.
