The MyKey feature was enabled and won't turn off. I took the vehicle to the dealer and had a new key programmed. This fixed the speed regulation but the limited volume feature is still active and I can't increase volume beyond 40%. The touch screen is also not responding correctly. Depending on where I touch the screen, the area of the screen impacted is about an inch or more below where I touch. In some cases, some features can't be accessed anymore because of their location on the screen.

Part Failure Motorcraft FD4615 (secondary filter on top of the engine) It is available for inspection. This occurred approximately 200 miles after installation. Failure resulted in diesel fuel saturating the entire engine compartment, firewall, and underside of the truck. Extreme fire hazard. Failure should be confirmed by mechanic today (it's pretty obvious). No other inspection performed as of yet. No warning lamps/messages/symptoms. Only sign was extreme smell of diesel in the cab. When vehicle stopped, and was inspected, there was diesel dripping from the engine compartment and underside of truck past the transmission. Was driving truck down the road when I turned off on a side road. When I did, there was an extreme smell of diesel. I stopped, and got out of the truck. There was smoke coming from under the hood, and a very substantial amount of diesel running out of the engine bay down towards the transmission. After allowing the vehicle to cool, I popped the hood. The entire engine bay was saturated. Diesel was pooled on top of the intake, as well as running down the side of the engine and firewall. Some smoke was still present. A person who stopped momentarily turned the ignition to the "on" position to see if there was an obvious leak. The center of the top of the fuel filter was spraying fuel out like a geyser, hitting the underside of the hood, and blanketing the engine.

The Ford Death Wobble. I was driving down the highway at speed and hit an overpass expansion joint and the truck started violently shaking and I had to slow down and get in the center median against the concrete barrier to get it under control. Once I got it under control and got back on the highway I moved to the slow lane and a couple of miles down the road I hit another expansion joint, and it did the same thing. This time there was an exit ramp coming up and I took the ramp to slow down to get it back under control. We had just had it at the local Ford dealership and had the suspension all changed to new from OEM. New tie rods, steering damper, and most of the other suspension parts to fix the issue. They said that should fix the problem. It did not fix the problem. Now it is back at the dealer, and they are saying that it "could be a couple of other parts" and it will be an additional $600.00 to have them replaced after we spent $1600.00 the first time it was supposed to be fixed. Why is it that Ford and the other manufactures that have this issue have not fixed the problem. This has been going on for years and the same issue. Also, why have they not issued a complete recall on these trucks to fix the issue? My truck is not part of the recall at all, and it is doing the same things as the ones that are on the recall. This makes no sense. If it is a known safety issue and it is a manufacturing defect, then there should be a recall. Is it because no one has died as a result of this yet? Or are they just waiting until someone does before they do something about it? This is absolutely insane to me. My wife will not drive the truck and that is who it was purchased for. We also bought it to haul our horses and she will definitely not haul her horses with this truck. She will continue to use the 1999 F250 that does not have this issue. I need some resolution to this and I would like to be reimbursed for the money that we spent to fix the problem that didn't fix it.

December 24th at approximately 1100 hr. Driving normally on the Garden State Parkway Southbound approaching exit 98. The vehicle instantaneously began to shake out of control. I was able to keep the Vehicle in the travel lane and was able to pull over to the shoulder. I Vehicle pulled over to see if I was ok and explained the truck was front tires shaking violently. I did a pulmonary check under the vehicle any everything looked in order. I followed up with a local Mechanic who informed me that this was a common issue with these vehicles that was called the "Ford Death Wobble" and suggested that i take it to a specialist who deals with the suspension. I followed up with R&H Spring and Truck repair, 4806 W Hurley Pond Rd, Wall Township, NJ 07719. R&H is familiar with the issue and the Vehicle is currently scheduled to be diagnosed. The recommendation is to change most of the front end because no one issues causes this to happen. The vehicle has less that 44, 000 miles on it and clearly a design issue. I have been In law enforcement for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this. I have been trained in all types of advanced driving course throughout those years. Fortunately I was driving at the time rather a less experienced driver. I am not requesting anything other than the issue be addressed to protect the public. Unfortunately if not addressed loss of life will occur. The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this RQ to investigate allegations that the scope and remedy of safety recall 13V-535 were inadequate. Recall 13V-535 was limited to a relatively small population of Ambulance Package vehicles and ODI received complaints of pickup trucks and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles being affected by the same defect. Ford manufactured approximately 555,985 subject vehicles between February 22, 2010 and January 30, 2015 that may be affected by defective EGT sensors and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software calibration. The subject vehicles are equipped with four (4) EGT sensors to monitor engine operating conditions. An EGT sensor fault may produce false exhaust over-temperature signals. If these signals are produced, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) implements a Failure Management Effects Mode (FMEM) and the driver receives a Stop Safely Now (SSN) system warning on the instrument cluster message center. The FMEM triggers a 70% reduction in available engine power over a period of no more than 45 seconds, during which it may not be possible to accelerate or maintain vehicle speed. The PCM then commands the engine to shut down when vehicle speed reaches approximately 1 mph. There is no immediate restart capability. Depending on the PCM software calibration, ignition key position and ambient temperature conditions, the engine may not restart until the end of a 10-60 minute cool down period.Ford and its component supplier(s) made numerous changes to the PCM software calibration and the design, material and manufacture of the EGT sensors over the period of subject vehicle production. This continuous product improvement affected vehicle performance regarding the alleged defect. Ford acknowledges the defect condition in the subject vehicles but argues that an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety is limited to Ambulance Package and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles where commanded shutdown could impact emergency response and patient care. Ford also argues that the defect trend is in decline. Ford also initiated a new safety recall (15V-175) to address the 13V-535 remedy concerns in the Ambulance Package vehicles and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles. The 15V-175 remedy reprograms the PCM with a new software calibration that stops a single EGT sensor fault to cause the vehicle to enter the FMEM shutdown mode.Ford also initiated an EPA emissions recall (14E03) for all subject vehicles that reprograms the PCM with the software calibration employed in safety recall 15V-175. The subject vehicles are equipped with four (4) EGT sensors to monitor engine operating conditions. An EGT sensor fault may produce false exhaust over-temperature signals. If these signals are produced, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) implements a Failure Management Effects Mode (FMEM) and the driver receives a Stop Safely Now (SSN) system warning on the instrument cluster message center. The FMEM triggers a 70% reduction in available engine power over a period of no more than 45 seconds, during which it may not be possible to accelerate or maintain vehicle speed. The PCM then commands the engine to shut down when vehicle speed reaches approximately 1 mph. There is no immediate restart capability. Depending on the PCM software calibration, ignition key position and ambient temperature conditions, the engine may not restart until the end of a 10-60 minute cool down period.Ford and its component supplier(s) made numerous changes to the PCM software calibration and the design, material and manufacture of the EGT sensors over the period of subject vehicle production. This continuous product improvement affected vehicle performance regarding the alleged defect. Ford acknowledges the defect condition in the subject vehicles but argues that an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety is limited to Ambulance Package and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles where commanded shutdown could impact emergency response and patient care. Ford also argues that the defect trend is in decline. Ford also initiated a new safety recall (15V-175) to address the 13V-535 remedy concerns in the Ambulance Package vehicles and Fire Engine Prep Package vehicles. The 15V-175 remedy reprograms the PCM with a new software calibration that stops a single EGT sensor fault to cause the vehicle to enter the FMEM shutdown mode.Ford also initiated an EPA emissions recall (14E03) for all subject vehicles that reprograms the PCM with the software calibration employed in safety recall 15V-175. Finally, Ford initiated a Customer Satisfaction Program (15M01) providing extended warranty coverage of 8 years or 80,000 miles for the the EGT sensors on certain MY2011-2012 subject vehicles.Due to the EPA emissions recall, that had a 66.6% completion rate in Ford's December 2015 progress report to the EPA, the defect trend is in decline. ODI is not aware of any crashes, deaths or injuries related to the alleged defect.ODI believes the alleged defect poses a safety risk but notes that the EPA emissions recall is addressing the safety problem.Compelling issuance of a duplicate recall would not represent a wise use of agency resources.Accordingly, this Recall Query is closed.This action is not a finding that no defect exists and NHTSA will take further action if such action is warranted.
