10 day roundtrip from [XXX] to [XXX]. 5 incidents of catastrophic engine failure on interstates. Truck started to jerk, sputter, lost power at an alarming rate. No engine light until failure ocurred. Very dangerous with heavy holiday traffic. Lives were in danger, us and other vehicles around us. No one expects travel to go from 70 mph,to 50, 30, 15 in such a short period of time. Pulled over to "investigate" code failures we deemed as o2 sensors. Afterwards the truck started back up, no engine lights and drove as normal. Started using premium gasoline, hoping it would help. Started driving in right lane as much as possible but had a failure ocurr right in front of on ramp as well at interstate speeds. Had another family following us so they also witnessed and pulled over all incidents. Brought into Ford 7/18/24 upon return home. Paid $125 inspection fee, concern not present, come back if happens again. Makes no sense that codes not present to pull. 12/13/2024 engine light on, catalytic converter replaced. 06/19/25 truck had catastrophic failure returning from work on hwy. XXX on [XXX], just two miles from leaving home another failure with no warning lights in heavy Friday traffic in construction zone. Couldn't clear the traffic lane completely. Very scary. Waited for clearing and limped it to a nearby off ramp. Same jerking, loss of power. Vehicle towed to shop for 2 weeks, testing, fuel pump replaced. Picked up 07/07/25. Next day received recall notice 25S75 in the mail 7/08/25. Everything made sense. 1/24/26 - Battery failed inspection @ 40% during oil change. Replaced battery ourselves from Costco. 04/23/26- Warning light, P0420 pulled, shop recommended engine tune -up. Paid $175 inspection fee + $671.20 tune up. 5/29/26 engine light on, P0420 pulled, recommend catalytic convertor replaced but not under factory warranty anymore so wants us to pay $4000 bill. Escalated up through Ford. As of 6/5/26 - Ford will pay half. I refuse. Should be covered by recall. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF I

Vehicle: 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Component: Door latch / door ajar sensor system This complaint concerns a latent manufacturing defect involving the door latch / door ajar sensor system on a 2022 Ford F-250. The defect causes the vehicle to falsely indicate that doors are open when they are fully closed, triggering alarms and safety warnings and impairing normal vehicle operation. This failure was detectable during the warranty period and manifested shortly after expiration of the bumper-to-bumper warranty, consistent with a latent defect rather than wear or maintenance. The same defect has occurred on multiple Ford vehicles purchased by the same family, including an identical repair performed on another Ford truck for the same door latch sensor failure. This demonstrates a patterned manufacturing issue, not an isolated incident. Numerous owner reports document this same failure mode on 2022 Ford F-250 vehicles, frequently occurring immediately following warranty expiration. The dealership declined to classify the failure as a defect and limited review to warranty dates only, refusing to provide a written determination or pursue goodwill consideration. Because this defect affects vehicle security systems and driver safety alerts, it warrants investigation as a systemic manufacturing defect. The dealership has also failed to repair recalls on the vehicle due to part shipment delays per their service team.
The door lock actuator has failed on the front driver side door. It does not work with the key fob or the door lock switch.

While my truck was under warranty, I reported intermittent failure of the front passenger door lock not functioning. Because it was intermittent, the dealership said since they couldn't replicate the issue they would not try to fix the issue. Now that I am out of warranty, the lock has failed completely and the front passenger door does not automatically lock when I am driving. The safety issue is that it will not lock or unlock automatically when it should. All other door locks work properly. Ford has refused to fix this as if it were still under warranty.

Loss of power windows, loss of A/C and heat, loss of turn signals, loss of radio, and loss of head lights. As well as engine not shutting off after key is pulled out. The first initial problems arose a year ago, not long after purchasing a 2022 Ford f250 superduty. Only when it rained or during very cold days the power to the front dash would be out including power windows and locks, radio, and A/C and heat. Ford dealership was unable to diagnose the problem. A year down the road, directly following a hard rain, the engine would not shut off when turning the key and removing it. I had to pull the fuel pump relay fuse from under hood to get the truck to shut off. After removing the lid, which was way too easy to take off, I noticed that all th box fuses were submerged in water. Yes there are safety concerns, what if my child ir myself was to get trapped inside the truck if the power windows and locks are malfunctioning? And on a hot day when the heat and air conditioning are also not working? How long would the truck have to continue to run before it shut off? There are electrical fire risks directly correlated with water in the fuse box. There were no warning lamps. Ford posted a service bulletin on regards to this matter. The power distribution module and the fuse box lid are at fault. The truck has since been repaired and are making us pay for it because it is 5,000 miles out of warranty. WE ARE extremely dissatisfied Ford customers!
