Adaptive Cruise Control and/or Camera System misreads speed limit signs. 1. System misreads speed limit signs by acquiring information from State Route sign. Example: SR248, Speed Limit 55mph, SR248 marker 20, Reads it as 20mph. Example: SR2004, Speed Limit 45mph, SR2004 marker 60 and 70, reads it as 70mph. 2. System misreads Truck Speed Limit Signs as vehicle Speed Limit. The problem occurs when both Speed Limit and SR signs are in close proximity to each other. Vehicle is available. The system if engaged, has the potential to accelerate or decelerate as much as 35mph in these examples, causing potential loss of control because of rapid acceleration or deceleration. The vehicle has been at the dealer twice and they have not been able to replicate. They may not have been able to replicate because of sign placing in their area. Under these conditions, the Adaptive Cruise Control is a safety hazard. I have it disengaged and is useless.

issues with my 2025 f150 tremor when I applied my brakes firmly, really not that hard ( not hard enough to skid) my truck locked into park and I wasn’t even able to put it back into a gear with a flashing message! Couldn’t get it back into gear for about 30 sec to 60 sec until a message stopped flashing. Had this happened in traffic or on a freeway this could have been really bad especially in traffic. Very dangerous!

THIS CONCERN HAS A TRACKING NUMBER FROM NHTSA #XXX. THIS 2025 FORD F 150 [VIN [XXX] ] HAD NO ISSUSES WITH A MESSAGE THAT STATES REVERSE BRAKE ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE SEE MANUAL SHOWING ON THE DASH DISPLAY UNTIL AFTER THE REQUIRED UPDATE FOR THE DASH AND THE BOSCH BRAKE MODULE WAS INSTALLED. IT HAS BEEN TO 2 DEALERS FOR THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES FROM OCT 25 - APRIL 26. THE SECOND DEALER FOUND THE SAME THING, MESSAGE APPEARS WITH NO CODES SET, THEY HAVE ALIGNED CAMERAS AND THE MESSAGE STILL COMES BACK ON. THIS BEING A BIG SAFETY ITEM TO SAVE BACKING INCEDENTS YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD FIND OUT WAT IS CAUSING THE ISSUE, BUT NO FORD TELLS THE DEALER TO TELL THE OWNER IT'S NORMAL. I DON'T BELIEVE IT IS, IT'S INSTALLED AND ADVERTISED AS A SAFETY FEATURE AND IF YOU READ UP ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THERE ARE A LOT OF THESE TRUCKS WITH THIS ISSUE AND FORD DON'T WANT TO ACKNOLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND FIX IT. I WOULD HOPE YOU WOULD ENTICE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO GET OFF THERE XXX AND TAKE CARE OF THIS. FORD CUSTOMER COMPLAINT TOLD ME THAT THEY SHOWED 1 RO ON FILE FROME THE PREVIOUS DEALER AND I HAD FOUR AS THEY HAD BILLED 4 UNDER SERVICE CONTRACT FOR MAINTAINCE NOT THE CONCERN, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SECOND DEALER BUT THEY HAVE TRIED UNTILL FORD SAID IT'S NORMAL. My wife was parking our F150 in a parking lot with landscaped dividers I was a passenger. The vehicle was in one foot driving mode. As she approached the curb going 1 to 3 mph, she moved her foot from the accelerator to the brake. As soon as she left the accelerator the vehicle rocketed off. She put her foot down on the brake, but the power of the vehicle was so great and so fast the vehicle went over the curb and a 4 inch landscaping tree. Luckily we were facing a drive on the other side and not a car. The vehicle stopped in the drive. The surge possibly lasted 1-2 seconds, but that was enough to lose complete control. If we were facing another car we would have landed on top of it. We were not injured and no pedestrians were in the vicinity. The body shop and the Ford dealership were unable to tell us what occurred. Ford needs to access the EDR module. Online research shows this event has happened to other owners.

Forward collision assist was activated without warning and for no reason. Brakes were applied abruptly causing the vehicle to slow down dramatically causing passengers to lurch forward which caused temporary discomfort in head, neck and shoulder area. Driving at approximately 50MPH in a straight direction on a two-lane road, one lane for each direction. There were no vehicles in front or rear in same lane of travel. Had just passed another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Road conditions were normal. Roadway was dry with no obstacles. Vehicle is scheduled for inspection.

While driving slowly in a traffic queue, the driver applied the brakes to stop behind the vehicle ahead. The ABS activated unexpectedly, causing the truck to lurch/jump forward instead of stopping smoothly. The driver was forced to steer left to avoid a collision, but the vehicle ultimately struck the car in front, damaging the left front of the truck. No injuries occurred. This is not the first time this behavior has been observed in this vehicle, and the vehicle had previously been inspected by an authorized Ford dealership for similar braking behavior without resolution. The incident occurred at low speed in stop-and-go traffic conditions. The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership for repair related to this incident.

While backing at low speed in a residential driveway, the vehicle struck a parked car causing significant damage. No ADAS safety systems activated: reverse automatic braking did not engage, no parking sensor warnings sounded, no audible or visual alerts occurred. The vehicle made no attempt to slow or stop despite approaching a large stationary obstacle. The vehicle has two open unrepaired recalls at the time of incident: Recall 25V488 (Electronic Brake Booster): EBB module may shut off unexpectedly during ADAS use. The EBB is integral to the electronic braking system ADAS relies on to autonomously apply brakes. If faulted, reverse automatic braking cannot engage regardless of sensor detection. Software fix was available but never applied. Ford documented 37 warranty claims and one crash before issuing this recall. Recall 25V863 (Integrated Park Module): May fail to lock into park. Remedy not yet available. The vehicle provided zero warning of degraded safety capability. No dashboard indicators or alerts that ADAS was unavailable. Multiple overlapping systems failed simultaneously suggesting cascading failure from the EBB fault or multiple independent defects. Ford SSMs 52161, 49767, and 50360 document known Lightning issues with inoperative park aid and reverse brake assist unavailability. The recall notice emphasizes brake pedal feel but does not clearly communicate that the defect can disable automatic emergency braking. Consumers may delay repair not realizing ADAS is compromised. Vehicle is available for inspection.

The truck has approximately 5,000 miles. When adaptive cruise control is engaged, the vehicle accelerates on its own to 85 mph whenever the posted speed limit changes, and there are no available settings to prevent this. For example, if the speed limit is 55 mph and adaptive cruise control is set to 55 mph, when the limit changes to 65 mph the truck automatically increases speed to 85 mph without driver input. Additionally, Apple CarPlay does not connect or function in the vehicle. The truck was taken to the dealership for this issue on 11/21/25 and has since been in and out of service multiple times, often remaining there for weeks at a time, for the same unresolved problems.

The contact owns a 2025 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 80 MPH with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the vehicle unexpectedly veered toward an 18-wheeler while passing. The driver’s hands were not on the steering wheel during the failure, and the driver was attentive and was not distracted, and was actively monitoring the roadway. The Adaptive Cruise Control system independently disengaged. The driver was able to regain control of the vehicle and later reactivated the Adaptive Cruise Control and the vehicle operated normally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.
