2021 Ford F-150 Hybrid

My radio speakers turned to 100% volume and the subwoofer made an EXTREMELY loud static noise. It could not be turned off. My ears rang and thankfully I wasn’t driving fast enough, as I was about to pull into my driveway. Based on the advice of a thread I read online, the best way to fix the issue was to shut the truck off and let the noise eventually turn off… which took ten minutes. Since I could not reproduce the issue, and based on everything I’ve read about this issue, going to the dealer would not be a benefit of my time as they require the issue to be happening to diagnose the issue. I cannot replicate it again, but if this happens while I’m driving much faster, I fear it will cause me to wreck… or lose my hearing. The noise was quite literally deafening. When I come to a stop, my truck will try to lunge/jump forward after a few seconds. It has been happening for a few weeks now. This could result hitting another car in front of me or potentially a pedestrian if I am stopped at a cross walk. I took it a dealer yesterday and they confirmed the problem. They attempted to reprogram it and said it fixed it. Later that night and again this morning, it did it again.

The rear axle bolts sheared off for unknown reasons. The symptom was a metallic rattling noise from the back of the vehicle - the noise was pieces of the axle bolts bouncing around inside the wheel center cap. The bolt in questions holds the rear axles in place. Vehicle has been at dealership for 2 weeks as they said it was a common problem that is a safety issue. Said it was possible for one or both of the rear wheels to fall off if I had continued driving it. Obviously losing one or two wheels is a huge safety concern. My dealer said he has seen this exact issue 4-5 times on similar trucks. Vehicle is less than 9 months old and has less than 13,000 miles on it. Vehicle is being repaired under warranty but using the same parts.

A noise being heard any the rear-end of the truck. Upon taking the rear tire off for investigation a bolt head was noticed in the center of the rim. This bolt came from the axle. The bolt in question holds the axle in place, if driven for a great distance then a chance of the axle floating towards the gear which could have caused a major safety concern for the occupants of the truck and anyone on the road Truck is currently at the shop, but dealer is replacing parts with same components. No root cause has been found to address concern. Other side of axle could reflect the same condition

I took my truck in for it's first oil change and tire rotation. I was called by the dealer a few hours later and told that when they pulled my rear tire off, the rear rotor axle bolt was seared and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. As the tire had never been removed previously they said it had to come from the factory that way, and that I was lucky the tire did not fall off while driving the truck. I was told the parts would be ordered and repairs done under warranty but it's been over a week with no information or results. I researched the internet and found hundreds of owners experiencing the same issue with the rear axle bolt being seared, apparently at the factory. If this makes the vehicle unsafe for the road and it's obviously affecting 100's of vehicles that I can find in some internet search, the problem is likely much worse. In April 0f 2022 I received a recall notice NHTSA 22V142 stating that my windshield wiper motor could stop working at any time. The recall has not been taken care of as of today 9-21-2022. I spoke with my dealership yesterday and they said that they have been told by Ford Motor Co. that they are Not to order the replacement motor to fix the issue unless the customer comes in with a broken motor. Why do we the customer have to wait until the motor stops working before this issue is fixed? What if it breaks during travel in heavy rain? The recall does state that this issue increases the risk of a crash. Ford is still building trucks that requires the part needed to fix my truck, so why am I having to risk getting caught in the rain? your help would be greatly appreciated.

I brought my truck in for routine maintenance oil change & tire rotation and was notified by the dealership that the right rear axle bolt was broken off and that the axle needed to be replaced and that it wasn’t safe to drive it until it was replaced well here’s my problem I didn’t know it was broken or unsafe to drive and had I not brought it in for the oil change early I would still be driving it like that this is a serious problem which could result in a loss of control and accident I’m not the only one that has had this happen I’ve researched it a little and found multiple people on an F150 forum that have had the same experience

There is a fairly common issue where there are bolts at the end of the rear axles (P/N 19S426) have the bolt head shearing off and rattling around inside the wheel. I had one such broken bolt. The issue is large enough that hundreds of owners are reporting this on Ford Truck forums, namely on the 2021 Ford F-150 Powerboost with the Max Tow Package like mine. Ford needs to recall this.
