The contact owns a 2016 Ford Expedition. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 MPH and pulling into the driveway, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle as needed. The contact depressed the brake pedal to the floor before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The contact tested the brake pedal the next morning and the brakes completely seized and failed to operate as designed. The vehicle was inoperable and needed to be towed. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the brake waring light illuminated and the brake seized. The contact allowed the vehicle to cruise towards the side of the road while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

While accelerating to merge onto an interstate, the vehicle jerked aggressively with a loud "bang"(similar to sound of transmission popping out of gear). A flashing check engine light appeared and vehicle lost ability to accelerate further, but was able to maintain speed. Light smoke was noticed from rear view mirrors, followed seconds later by thick, dark smoke. Other cars began honking and waving at us. We pulled over as quickly as possible after the incident to assess. Once stopped, flames could be seen around the driverside cowl/front fender area and I yelled for my family to get out of the vehicle. The front end of the vehicle was engulfed within a couple of minutes of our safe exit.
The lug nuts are 'swollen', difficult to remove and are 'separating' according to America's Tire personnel who rotate and balance my tires.
Water/condensation build-up in charge air cooler collects in tubing and discharges into intake when quickly accelerating from a stopped position or “punching it” to pass a slower vehicle in traffic. This causes my vehicle to go into limp mode and lose all power which can be extremely dangerous in high traffic conditions.

While driving, brake pedal suddenly went straight to the floor with no resistance and no braking. Took to Ford and found that brake master cylinder had failed catastrophically, just like F-series trucks which have been recalled. Vacuum booster was full of brake fluid and master cylinder empty. Incurred $1062.62 in repair costs and could have had deadly consequences if it hadn’t occurred in a parking lot at low speed. There were no warning indicators activated. Repair done by AutoNation Ford inTorrance, CA, and I have the parts in my possession. Insurance and law enforcement were not involved.
Navigation system fails, does not route correctly. Fear for getting lost or not making appointments. Phone conversations via blue tooth on connected phones to auto will break up or drop preventing emergency calls.
driving at constant speed the automobile has entered Limp Mode at which time power to the drive train is loss and it losses speed rapidly. This is the third time it has happened over a 4-5 month period.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2019 Lincoln MKC, Mustang, F-350 SD, F-250 SD, F-450 SD, 2015-2017 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, 2015-2018 Edge, Transit Connect, 2016-2019 F-550 SD, Transit, 2017-2019 Econoline, and 2019 Ranger vehicles. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, or blank image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 13, 2026. Ford owners will receive letters in phases, beginning January 2026 and June 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S89. Consequence: Front blower motor failure can increase the risk of a vehicle interior fire.

Consequence: A loss of brake fluid may result in a change in brake pedal travel, increased pedal effort and reduced front brake function, requiring greater effort and distance to stop the vehicle. These conditions can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the brake master cylinder. If the master cylinder is leaking, the brake booster will also be replaced. Repairs will be performed free of charge. An interim owner notification letter notifying customers of the safety defect were mailed on April 29, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed April 29, 2022.
