After arriving at my designation 250 miles from my home my I arrived safely but when leaving from there the car would start. I waited 20 minutes before I tried starting it and it started. I was there for the weekend for a graduation. Sunday the car started and I proceeded to come home to the same distance. I stopped at Costco in Portland, Or. which was about 5:30 evening. I went to put my groceries in the car but the hood would not open. I tried to use the Fob but again it would not start. I took the key out of the Fob and opened the door and the horn started blasting and the car lights started blinking. My son was in Portand, Or. as well and meet me at Costco. He opened the Fob and put in a new battery but that did not work. We figured that it was probably dead even though it was never used and new. He went and bought a 5 pack of batteries. We tried again and again it would not start. Before I called him I had gotten hold of my roadside insurance and since it was not considered an accident nor anyone hurt, they said it would take about 1 to 2 hours to get there. That's when I called my son. After numerous times trying to get it started with a new battery it finally started. Drove home with my son following behind and made it home. I was thinking that it was just the Fob but it started to do the same thing in days to come. As of today July 11, 2022 my car has been at the dealer where I bought it since May 23, 2022. I took it there for an oil change, which I always do and it's been there almost 2 months. I did send a letter to Ford Motor Company , Customer Relationship Center in Dearborn, MI 48126. I believe that my 2022 Ford should be considered a safety defect. I'm just glad that, had my car lost power on the freeway or any other place it I would not had any control over it. I did not mention that my granddaughter was with me when I drove the 250 miles.

I have owned this Ford for 3 years now. It uses coolent excessively and I have replaced many parts. The Catalyic Converter went out, all motor mounts, font and rear suspension, engine burp valve, faulty throttle body, fried drivers side bulb socket, wiper arms stripped, weather stipping corroding on windshield near hood, front window cracked and damaged, coolent temperature control sensor and firmwware update not automated and dealer charges $250 to update car software for engine improved performance. Sluggish, bogging and unresponsive car until software update and throttle body repair. All around a lemon for as many parts I've put on in a short amount of time. I've spent over $3300 on parts alone. The dealer in Upland services the cars oil but fails to fill the fluids, spills oil on my spark plugs and ruins the fasteners to the skid plate by over torqueing them. It has been the worst car experience of my life and I've never had to replace so many parts in so short of time. I drove a 1974 Nova around for 20 years and still haven't replaced as many parts. This is ridiculous and predatary of Ford to put out cars with these many short term problems on them. Literally evering is going bad after 100k miles. I read post after post of people needing new engines and transmissions because of Fords incompetience. I just got a recall for the Transmission which means the car is unsafe to drive and Ford does not have the ability to fix it until the end of the year. Without a rental or replacement car I am risking my life driving this vehicle and the integety of the tranmissions. So if the tranmissison breaks before the recall is able to fixed then what happens then. Is it now a complicated legal matter where attorny's mitigate the age of the vehicle vs their incompetience. Ordering parts with Ford is a nightmare. They sometimes send the wrong parts and leave it up to the dealers to do the return or not. So it takes weeks between calling back and forth with Ford.com parts.

The car continually has delayed acceleration. It revs and drives 2.5 mph for several seconds before it lurches into gear. It's extremely unsafe and I'm concerned about it happening on the highway. Ford is refusing to take an appointment with me to assess the safety of the vehicle until 2-3 months out (won't even put my name on a waitlist) and will not offer a loaner vehicle in the interim. The car has 15,000 miles on it and is under warranty.

I try not to depend on camera but the other issues bother me. Seems to be random things happen that all seem to tie back to the darn display or the SYNC3 part of it. I see a TSB 21-2175 that seems to hit on it. I also see the recall on other Escapes. Mine is a 2016. Really bothers me. I am afraid it is going to cause engine to stop in traffic. Or what if a child walks behind me? You only allow me to enter one date. This is random and happens a lot. It is getting worse and more frequent. First did it at 40,000 now has 100,000 and still doing it. Have asked folks and got nowhere.
Every time I put my car in park and I take my foot off the break it rolls back a little. I did have a overheating warning and my rear camera didn’t work and it is also upside down.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Ford Escape vehicles manufactured May 19, 2014, to February 6, 2015, and Transit Connect vehicles manufactured May 11, 2014, to July 2, 2015. Due to a software incompatibility issue, the instrument panel cluster be inoperative including a blank multiple functional display (MFD), and non-functional warning chimes, messages and warning lights. Specific warning chimes, messages and warning lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: If the instrument cluster is inoperative, the driver of may not be warned of safety related issues such as low tire pressures or disabled air bags, increasing the risk of personal injury or a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Escape vehicles manufactured October 5, 2011, to April 1, 2013, and equipped with 2.0 liter engines and Focus ST vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, to October 14, 2013, and equipped with 2.0 liter engines. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module (PCM).
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: The incorrect signals could cause the vehicle to hesitate or the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices, free of charge. The recall began in October 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Ford's number for this recall is 14S17.
