I was driving on Interstate 10 between Casa Grande and Tucson at around 81 mph, and pushed on the accelerator a bit more to get in front of a car when the warning indicator turned on. It said "Low Engine Oil Pressure". Immediately the car lost all acceleration while I was in the left lane. I had to immediately turn on my hazard lights and get to the right lane, while slowly losing speed. I did not feel safe pulling onto the shoulder and there was an exit about a mile away from where it all started so we essentially were cruising, losing speed, to the exit. We pulled into a gas station parking lot while we figured what was going on. This happened while I was driving in the left lane of a 3 lane interstate with a speed limit of 75mph. I believe that our safety was put into risk because of the nature of the location where it happened and how everyone else was going over 75mph while we were trying to get off the freeway safely. After many tows and having to go back to phoenix, we took it to Chapman Ford in Scottsdale. The oil pump belt snapped, causing the engine to run without oil, and damaging the engine to the point where the dealership says it needs to be replaced. The engine sounds different now and there is rattling present. The Service department quotes the replacement at over $7,000 and the car is just outside the powertrain warranty. No support from Ford Corporate as of now when this is being typed. We do not have the money to get the engine replaced at the moment without having to get a loan. There were no warning lights on prior to this happening, and the car has been maintained well. No symptoms either. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer due to the fact that they are recommending an engine replacement. The car is currently at the dealership in Scottsdale. **** Form is not letting me upload files, I am willing to upload some files to help yall with this****

I purchased this vehicle in 2020 and for the first 55,000 miles the car was great and after that it became a nightmar. I was driving one day and and lost power and the car would not accelerate properly I took the car to my dealership and after them having it they said the turbo charger had malfunctioned. The dealer fixed it after paying a $100 deductible. A month or so goes by and the car lost power and the engine was knocking. I called the dealer once again and they came and picked it up. A few days went by and the dealer called and said that the oil pump had failed causing the engine to blow. They said they were going to replace the engine and after several days they called and said my car was finished. I went and picked it up. Since then the car has been back in the shop twice because the wrench light kept coming on and having the same powertrain issues. The second time was just in the past few days to be exact Dec,02,2023 the same problem the wrench light hesitation and no acceleration when hitting the gas pedal the dealership once again told me to bring it in. Today Dec,05 I was told to come In about my car and they informed me the battery and the brake linings were the cause of the wrench light. Doing my own research the wrench light is a sign of powertrain issues. The dealership tells me what they want to tell me because I feel like they are tired of dealing with this issue and it's very disheartening to me because this is my only mode of transportation.

I was driving to work and a flashing light came on that said low oil pressure. the car then lost it's power and started to lag down. The cars behind me started breaking and almost hit the back of my car. I finally pulled over on the side of the road. My car is not that old. It should not be having this issue.

A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S72.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2018 Ford Focus and 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport vehicles. The oil pump drive belt or drive belt tensioner may fail, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure.
Consequence & remedy
Consequence: A loss of oil pressure can result in an engine stall and a loss of power braking assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the oil pump tensioner assembly and oil pump drive belt, free of charge. If engine failure occurs due to a damaged oil pump belt and/or oil pump belt tensioner, Ford has authorized dealers to replace the engine assembly as an interim repair before the availability of remedy parts for the final repair. This repair will be free of charge (parts and labor). Owner notification letters were mailed August 11, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. PE23015 · Oil Pump Failure
Opened Sep 20, 2023 · Closed Feb 14, 2024
Status: closed (inferred from source dates) · Engine And Engine Cooling:engine:oil/lubrication:pump
On September 20, 2023, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened PE23-015 to investigate instances of engine failure due to loss of oil pressure in model year (MY) 2018-2021 Ford EcoSport vehicles. Some consumers reported a low engine oil pressure warning lamp immediately preceding a complete loss or reduction of motive power while the vehicle was in motion. The investigation revealed that the engine oil pump drive belt tensioner arm may fracture, separate from the tensioner backing plate, and/or the oil pump drive belt may degrade and lose teeth, resulting in a loss of engine oil pressure. A loss of engine oil pressure can result in engine seizure, which can result in a loss of motive power and a loss of mechanical vacuum pump required to provide power braking assist, increase the risk of a crash. On December 22, 2023, Ford filed recall 23V-905 for certain MY 2016-2018 Ford Focus and 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport vehicles. The recall remedy provides the replacement of the oil pump drive belt tensioner assembly and oil pump drive belt with redesigned parts to improve robustness. In view of the recall action being taken by Ford, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation. The agency reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. To review the reports cited in the Closing Resume ODI Report Identification Number document, go to NHTSA.gov.
